It is just amazing that someone who was let go for discrimination and harassment and now one of his friends who works at this place as a peer supporter as decided to continue the discrimination and flat out harassment. Before you judge someone and confront them in an aggressive way, listen to what the person has said and you will understand the truth in their words and one of those things is something that someone in a peer support position should understand and be respectful, symptoms of a health condition and deciding to discriminate against somebody because of symptoms exhibiting in stressful places because of previous discrimination. If this behavior continues I will seek out a civil rights attorney.

I participate at Wings for about a year before a consumer gave me a Kill stare in response to her misunderstanding my words. I felt intimidated and threatened. I reached out to staff seeking advice and support, but was not able to get any assistance. It lead me to realize and to accept that as a consumer, my needs didn’t matter.
I have struggled to feel safe and to trust the Wings staff for similar experiences of being blamed and humiliated by both staff and consumers. The groups at Wings lack therapeutic qualities and are lead by staffers. My self worth has suffered through this organization, because of oppression and disrespect. I saw myself as a second class citizen who wasn’t good enough. I personally am disappointed with this organization as a result of how I was treated by staff members. I felt my dignity and reputation was compromised. I felt used and unappreciated, alienated, anxious and afraid. All I was to them was a name on an attendance record so they might attain more funds and guarantee their employment. Expressing my feelings about what I was experiencing was a waste of time because no one cared or was empathetic about what was happening. The staff supported each other but ignored the consumers. I faced numerous triggers and no one noticed. My needs were not being addressed and were ignored. I was expected to give support but not to receive it back. I felt invisible. I felt okay prior to arriving at Wing, but felt worse afterwards. There was to much negativity, chaos, and drama.

Great help can be found here. They also have nice support groups. The groups do seem to be a but lacking for substance and are mainly for sharing concerns and issues, but the leaders of the groups are very helpful, if you have questions or concerns. I just wish they had more therapeutic style groups.

I have had to use their service many times and they are absolutely wonderful people and a wonderful support system. Nebbie Brown and Don warneke are wonderful as are all of the girls there. They don't make you feel like you're a second-class citizen they make you feel like part of the family. Thank every one of them and I hope that each have a wonderful Merry Christmas.

Was great when first went there. But after a relapse got kicked out and lost peer support. Thought itbwas a Support and recovery place. No supoort when needed
