I recently had the pleasure of volunteering at Montrose Animal Shelter, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by an incredibly friendly and supportive staff who truly care about the animals in their care. The facility itself is spotless and welcoming, creating a warm environment for both the animals and the volunteers.

It’s clear that the dogs and cats at Montrose Animal Shelter are well taken care of. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that each animal is comfortable, happy, and healthy while they await their forever homes. The love and dedication they show to these furry friends is truly inspiring.

Volunteering here has been a rewarding experience, and I’ve loved every moment spent with the animals. If you’re looking for a place to make a positive impact in the community, Montrose Animal Shelter would be a great experience.

A staff that truly cares about the animals they shelter, foster's who open their homes and hearts to animals and help people and the pets being fostered an opportunity to bond and find the right fits, and an adoption process when those people/pet connections are found that is enjoyable and genuinely feels rewarding make this shelter/service the place to go to find your next new to each other pet! I can't thank them enough for the care they provided to our new to each other fur baby, and the welcoming and appreciative feel they gave us. The adoption fees are very reasonable and cover everything you and your new family member needs to start your new lives together. Highly recommend you stop by for your next pet, or to see about helping out if you just want to get your furry friend fix!

It is an awesome place with kind people, great people, and the smell of a clean facility. My experience was great. I drove from Denver for 5.5 hours to adopt the dog of my choice. I highly recommend Montrose Animal Shelter.

Tomoko is caring, understanding, and a very bright woman who helped me get my cat taken care of. The facility is immaculate and I've only seen the shelter improve since my volunteer days in middle school. They host lots of clinics, and can be super helpful during a lost animal situation.

They have unlawfully taken my dog from me and has refused to give her back. Punishing her for no reason at all and keeping her in a kennel for over a week now without so much as taking her for a walk. They placed her under "quarantine" for biting yet she's never biting anyone EVER. she's a good dog and would never bite anyone. So for them to basically dognap her under their false assumption is just wrong on every level I will not stop fighting every single day until they let her go because she did nothing wrong and Richard Phillips your a bad man for not listening to me and assuming that she's better off in a kennel than she is with me I might be homeless but my dogs have a good life and she's already had enough trauma she doesn't need you to do more to her she's a good dog
