As a Senior using the pool, tubs, weight machines and bikes, I find Chilson to be a great place to work out. I even engage in short talks with a variety of people using machines when appropriate!
Often some early afternoons there are many seniors being active. This is when the outdoor hot tub can be empty and (over 15 only) outdoors. I enjoy seeing the many families in the pool areas.
Groups of young boys (10-16), for example, are very polite in the locker room and I do not mind if they get noisy sometimes, they are kidding each other.

Lots of equipment, but needs a revamp. I typically train at the Berthoud rec center but they are temporary closed to redo the floor in the training facility, so they are allowing us to lift here. Happy to have a place to train, but I’ll be happy when I Berthoud rec is back in action.

- Parking is very scarce
- Classes are constantly getting cancelled or rescheduled. Very unreliable.
- The situation in the facility seems to be getting less safe and family-friendly. After swim lessons for my kids, often the family changing rooms were occupied for 15-20 minutes (probably longer). On multiple occasions, this left only one or two of the family changing rooms for the kids finishing up swim class to change.

Don’t buy a pass here if you’re looking to play racquetball. Their reservation system has been a challenge and if you come in the evening you’ll find all the rooms taken up by screaming kids running around and jugglers using the rooms for their hobby. It’s nice the recreation center allows different activities but it’s a pretty sore loss when no racquetball players can even get a court ! ! ! the rooms are also not a special daycare room for people to keep kids in. young kids also always constantly in the weights area despite signage. thanks :/ would rather drive to fort collins or windsor and will be after the pass expires

This place is a lot of fun. We signed up my daughter for swimming lessons. The pool is great. It’s got a big pool for adults, and an area for young children that is very nicely sized. There is also a lazy River as well. They have gyms here, a whole workout area and they offer a lot of different activities.

Grand kids take gymnastics there (for a few years). Really like the interaction with kids while teaching. Grandkids love this program. Great communication with parents (grandparents) also.

Critical Safety Concerns!!!

Today, I was working out in the weight room and the scariest situation came about, when two parent brought in 3 children (2 toddlers and an infant) into the weight room. These parents were letting the kids use the equipment and wonder around. I saw several times where one of the kids was almost hit by someone walking by carrying weights.

I was going to complain but saw someone else already doing it. The staff member knew they were in there even before the complaint but did final ask them to leave. The parents then just took the kids onto the track and in other areas upstairs where they were getting too close to other patrons. Every staff member saw and instead of making sure everyone could be safe, they ignored the major safety concern.
In my many years coming here, I have never felt unsafe until today! This needs to be addressed immediately!
