Great group, helped me straight away with an orphaned squirrel I found in my garage. They mentioned they help rehab small critters: hummingbird up to coyote size. Birds of prey and large critters need to go elsewhere. Something really neat is that since they try to set the rehabilitated critters free within 10 miles of where they were found.... It's possible I can re-release the squirrel on my property if he is able!

I found an injured bunny in my backyard. I found out about Greenwood Wildlife through an online search. They were very responsive to my call and more than willing to help. When I dropped the bunny off, the staff member that helped was incredibly kind and informative. I appreciate the peace of mind of knowing this bunny would be cared for. I am grateful for such a wonderful resource to helpful injured wildlife.

This is a place to take an animal when you find an injured one. I had a wounded crow and I took it to them and they were very kind and thoughtful even though her prognosis was fatal. I donated to the cause because I think what they do is invaluable.

Reached out to the center about a baby squirrel.

First call: Right when someone picked up, we were hung up on.

Second call:
- While they were knowledgeable on the topic especially on how to try to reunite him with his mom; there was no compassion or empathy.
- With our concerns about predators (cats, dogs, birds of prey): they did suggest getting the box high on the tree. Though it did not ease our minds.
- They emphasized the squirrel calling mom sound was important (so are we supposed to leave our phone out the entire day?) Some thought and consideration would be helpful.

From the other reviews and our brief encounter; this facility is likely experiencing severe compassion fatigue.
- I understand it's difficult to rehabilitate animals; while it can be frustrating to get calls and hear that people unintentionally do things that hinders rehabilitation
- However, "our" lack of knowledge and resources is exactly why we searched and found this facility - for help. Also so that we could avoid causing harm.

From this conversation and other reviews (not just from google) - my assessment is that at this time, this facility is likely experiencing severe compassion fatigue +/- burnout.

I recommend for this facility to provide better mental health resources and training for their team. You are valuable experts and a much needed resource for the community of people and animals.

Make sure to read through the reviews. We made the mistake to take a sick animal here! They made it appear that they could help. Unfortunately this poor baby went to his death because they euthanized. They claim the animal was too far gone but I have seen far worse and the animal pulled through. Seems they didn’t even try and just went straight for let’s euthanize. I will never use them for anything again. I feel deeply saddened that I even took the baby animal here for it to turn out like this. I am glad I did not donate to this place.

We called the Center to inquire about a hummingbird that flew into our home's window and could not fly. We asked for advice. We were told we could bring the bird into them. We drove from Estes Park. At arriving at the Center, a woman at the front desk immediately took the box with the bird in it. We had wanted to take a picture of the bird for our granddaughter and forgot to do so, and asked if someone could do that for us. The answer from he woman at the front desk was a swift "no." A few minutes later we asked another woman if she could take a picture for us. She said she would. When she came back with our Iphone there was no picture, and no explanation. Next a woman came out and told us she had put the bird down because its wing was not fixable. She further told us that because of the way hummingbirds use their wings, it's never possible to help them with wing trauma. It was nice that she came out and talked with us. Why were we not told that hummingbirds don't survive wing trauma when we initially called the Center with our questions? This center may be a good resource but the quality of response from the people we had contact with was less than impressive. We will give a small donation, but would have contributed more, and likely would continue to be interested in the Center had they been more communicative and flexible.

I called today about 4 orphaned baby bunnies. 2 were doing well, 2 not so well. I brought them in. The person on the phone was very nice but did not tell me before I drove there that if leave them there, if they don’t do well in the first 24 hrs, they would be euthanized and i cannot take them back because it’s Colorado law. We had the capability to nurse them overnight and they don’t have overnight staff.
