First off, the staff really needs recognition. They go above and beyond for the animals, even when they are short staffed. I have adopted two dogs from this shelter. They are all great additions to our family. When a neighbors dog was missing, I was notified immediately that someone had dropped off the pupper and we were able to pick him up immediately. I can’t stress enough how much this shelter does for its residents. Thanks guys

Great place, great staff. I adopted a 10 month old stray 4 years ago and I am incredibly grateful for everything they did to help me take care of my pup.

This is the guy we adopted on his first car ride with us to his new home. We've had him for a month now and I wouldn't trade it for the world. He's the best cat anyone could ask for. I highly recommend Fremont rescue. The staff was incredibly helpful with our adoption journey. Best of luck to you!

Not a good place for pets! Pets are not well cared for here, they will not allow you to pick up your pet or even allow you to adopt back your own pet that has been brought here, even with proper documentation and proof of ownership! They do not care about the actual welfare of your pet and aren’t interested in reuniting pets with there rightful owner! If at all possible avoid bringing any pet here!

We adopted a really sweet kitten from here a few months ago. Two weeks after, he developed a respiratory infection, we took him to Fremont vet and he was treated with medication and he was fine. Three days before Christmas he started having more issues, he was crying in pain and and he could not pee. We took him to Fremont Vet and we were told he needed emergency surgery. Because we did not have enough funds to pay for it up front without even knowing how much it was going to be (all they told us was "it's very expensive"). We were left with either paying thousands of dollars in the moment or surrendering him to the vet. They gave us no options except a care credit application. All these decisions had to me made while listening to my kitten cry in pain. So in order for us to save his life and take away his pain we had to sign that dang paper stating that we give him up. We did what we thought was right to save his life in that moment. The vet stated it would be up to the humane society if they want to release him back to us. I immediately called them the next day and emailed the director. I stated in that email the situation and that I could very well pay his vet bills, we just could not the day of the surgery. A week later my husband went in to check on him and see if we could get help getting our kitten back and the manager (Susan) was very rude to him stating she would need $1000 up front minimum for his vet bill. We would have no problem paying that by the way. She proceeded to tell him it was our fault he was sick and he will have to be on special medication and special food for life and that we will not be getting him back. What a way to make us feel like crap. All I have to say is, "Lady, you know nothing about us and our capabilities. When we adopted him we knew it was a commitment and we were fully aware of the costs of owning a pet and were fully willing to take on his treatment for life. But instead of placing him back into his home and allowing us to pay his vet bill, you choose to rip him from his home and doggie friends and family. Working with the community one would think you would be a little bit more professional instead of putting your hands on your hips and making accusations toward us". We did what we thought we needed to do to save his life in that moment. Our Christmas was ruined because we lost him. We have been doing everything we can to get him back home and you choose not to attempt to work with us, instead you stick him back in a cage with no one. I am very disappointed in how we were treated. I hope you sleep at night manager of the humane society.

I have adopted 3 of my fur babies from the Humane Society. The humane society is such a good cause and the staff is always so helpful. The community would not be the same without them.
