This program tends to have a nice, supportive, uplifting vibe with a lot of kids rising into semi-leadership roles. It is not a crazy competitive place and provides a great chance for kids to be kids and learn to love sports. Given the area, there are some iffy things surrounding it and yet, the GMLL grounds are decent and normally feel like there is oversight.
On the downsides, sometimes communication and planning can be pretty convoluted and some of the rules can be difficult to find so you'll get arguments between certain coaches and umps about the actual rules but most of the problems I have run into in the past few years have all stemmed from the board. There are some very difficult people that have been around for quite a long time that make many volunteers and supporters feel pretty unappreciated and devalued. I have witnessed their direct, dramatic, and absolutely inappropriate actions affect children, games, and parents with no repercussions and have seen 2 coaches and 2 very active team mom/volunteers completely quit because they cannot be reasoned with. So that's the warning: if you are going to take an active role, be prepared for some challenging individuals.
Overall, I love the availability of this program in this area and the volunteers I have worked with for years have been amazing with all my children.

Love this place. It's clean but the bathrooms could use some cleaning! It's absolutely disgusting. Truck stops or the rest area bathrooms are cleaner than this. Other then that I would rate higher.

I loved watching my daughter play softball here for two seasons, but sadly after recently posted comments by whomever is running the Facebook page(which I have now been blocked from and comments from myself and another softball parent have been deleted) essentially dismissing the entire softball program, players and parents, I will no longer recommend this facility for anyone to invest their child's athletic ability, time or their money into.

While I understand the program is 100% volunteer run, no one wants to volunteer to work with the board/senior volunteers, when they are being spoken to and about so poorly. Perhaps a reevaluation of your response to parents/people is necessary to help in your need for volunteers & more involvement in the park and facility upkeep.

I've been to this park when I come to visit Colorado. The facility is not kept up and the people that run it are rude. Based on your responses below, it seems you do not know how to address and resolve negative feedback so instead you delete posts and ban people from "your" park. I'm glad I don't live there and have to deal with people like you.

Over the last 2 seasons my family and others have never been contacted by a team; and had to simply show up to a game to be 'claimed' by a team. All teams should be posted online, with at least one point of contact for the coach.

I understand that the park is 100% volunteer, but I would love to see some of the older kids who reep the benefits of funding for tournaments put a little more effort in trash clean up and bathroom clean up.

This was the first year that my son played baseball and I decided to volunteer as a coach. I cannot say enough good things about the year we had and the amount of growth I saw in my kid and many others when it came to baseball and character development. I really never thought I would be so involved in a season and it was worth every minute, hour, day and week! I would not trade the experience for anything! I want to thank everyone at Grand Mesa Little League. This is a great place to have your kids play baseball! Thank you!

I was a board member with this park for 10 years and it breaks my heart that parents just don't care to volunteer anymore. It will always be a place for kids to have something to do to keep them busy in the spring into summer months; but, the parents really need to step up and make it a beautiful park again.
