I came from out of state and I attended the men’s saturday morning breakfast study with a friend who is a member of the church. A most wonderful experience and fellowship. I recommend everyone living in Lakewood to consider this house of worship. I was most welcomed and allow to introduce myself and voice an opinion in matters of my belief and faith regarding the Lord. Much appreciated. so if I may I want to share a small thought with you the reader.

I really love our church community. Some of the most loving and caring people I've ever met. Pastor Julie and Pastor Kim inspire me every week.

I am not a member but I have attended their services. I have been impresed with their mission to the poor and needy. One of the most moving homilies I ever heard was Pastor Michael talking about a homeless person who was camping on the church property. The caring relationship that developed between Michael and the homeless man has stayed with me. I also know that they provide bags of granola bars and water to hand to needy people on the streets. They collect for the children in the neighborhood school. I find their homilies to be closely aligned to encouraging us to practice what we see Jesus doing in the New Testament.

A place that is welcoming to all, serves all, and focuses on the life and teachings of Jesus not just the death of Jesus. The pastors here are the reason I came back to church on a regular basis after I left the Catholic church that had so many rules and exclusions. They really mean it when they say "All are welcome to the table."

We were here for my daughters choir concert so i am a little bias on the event (which was fabulous). The sound quality was good, and set up very well done. Thre facilities were well kept, the sound staff and event co-odinator were amazing, and its a very inviting atmosphere.

I have been going to Holy Shepherd off and on for 50 years. There were curcumstances that caused me to attend other churches and I always come back to Holy Shepherd. If you are looking for a warm, inviting place to worship, this is the church you've been looking for. Stop by and check it out. Guaranteed to be welcome with open arms.
