The entire animal sanctuary is a must see! If you're thinking about it, just go. It's a great setup for the animals' retirement, the staff/volunteers are very knowledgeable and helpful, and they have wagons and motorized chairs for those who can't handle the 3 mile round trip.

Incredible place. The animals are free to roam around their grounds. The weather was great, and the bears were just starting to get around from their winter hibernation. Well treated animals to be observed. All the pictures I posted, are from the high rise walk-way, so you won't disturb the animals. Long walk from one entrance to the end, but well worth it. No dogs or any other animal's allowed in the park(due to the nature of the park and what it has. Plan for at least 3 hours of your time, to really enjoy the place. Everyone was very helpful and eager to give you, any information that you might need, or answer any questions, you have.

Great place to visit. Just remember it's a place for animals. They've had a hard start to life, they are here to live a peaceful life, not to entertain.
Best time to visit is late (wild nights) or when the weather is cooler or rainy. They love the rain!!

Great place to spend the afternoon if you don't forget to rent/bring the binoculars! Animals are happy and playful here. Plan to be here from afternoon til the end of the day when the animals are getting fed, then you will see Grizzlies and wolves running and hear lions roaring. They also have a biography booklet that shares info on all the animals' backstories, very touching. Volunteers are also happy to share information as well! It is a long walk to the end and back.

I can't say enough about this place! Are you a photographer who wants shots that are marred by a fence? This is this place for you! Do you enjoy seeing animals that are rescued and very well cared for? This is the place for you! They have a mile and a half elevated walkway to view the massive enclosures that the animals are in (we are talking acreage, as in 20 acres for a pride of lions). The sounds of the lions roaring the wolves and coyotes howling, and the tigers growling were really impressive! Did I mention the bears and the hyenas?

Everyone should experience this place at least once! The Wildlife Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg is a gem for animal lovers. Motorized and non- motorized wheelchairs are available to take you 1.5 mi to the end of the footbridge and back. Small children too old for strollers who aren't into walking could get antsy, but there are a few places to rest along the way. The animals seem very content in their habitats and are provided the best possible care, to all appearances. A different experience from zoo life, absolutely.
