Very hard working employees who help Denver families every day. I have partnered with AD for 3 years and have a front row seat to how much they care. I refer families to AD almost every day!

We have had a very poor experience with Advocacy Denver. Lack of professionalism ( late to appointments, untimely email responses to a super time sensitive matter, lack of advocacy for what we felt was important for our son, did not include me in communications internally or with childfind ). I was not notified that my advocate was not going to be attending our scheduled IEP meeting( because he was out of town which I found out only a few days before) and we were reassigned last minute( days before) to a different advocate. Nothing got accomplished at all for our son. Due to what I believe is bad advice/incorrect advice; my 5 yr old autistic child will not have any services in place so that he can start kindergarten in a wk and a half, even though he had an IEP from a different district. I do not trust the advice from the staff here because they didn’t own it when they told me bad advice, didn’t own any of the mistakes. Saying I’m sorry about that only goes so far when it comes to getting important things accomplished for your child. They just emailed me notifying me that all communication would be via email to “avoid confusion “, implying that I was confused instead of poorly advised. I am not confused, I am really deeply frustrated. I am a frustrated parent of a 5 yr old who is supposed to start kindergarten in a wk in a half but has no IEP/504/ any supports in place for him to succeed in school. They were supposed to help us navigate childfind ( as childfind does not respond) and were supposed to help us getting something in place for the start of school. Our kiddo is likely not going to be able to go to kindergarten, which sucks for him. I know he would like to go. I would not recommend their services.

AdvocacyDenver has worked tirelessly on behalf of my son for more than 2 years. Their responsiveness and level of support has been far beyond my expectations. For the first time, I am confident that we have the best possible team in our corner, and I can't imagine where we would be without their expertise and dedication.

I have spoken with the lawyer at Advocacy Denver and he was not only knowledgeable but very clear and concise about what some of my options were in my situation. So he was excellent. On the other hand, I had talked with Andrew Franklin who on the website is known for child advocacy. Although, he responded quickly to my request for an advocate. He failed to show up to the IEP meeting that we agreed to meet. This was not only embarrassing, but really shook my confidence in terms of trusting him to advocate in my situation. Now understandably, I know that things happen. But he didn't even bother to call me and rectify the situation. So in conclusion, I think I'll skip relying on them in another situation. It's just too bad because people really need help with advocacy. But I'm not sure that I would trust Mr. Franklin to follow thru on meeting families needs.

Rejected for help because of the same issue we went to them for help with.
They are totally useless, unprofessional, and do not respond in appropriate and agreed time.
Writing every complaint possible about them. I suggest anyone else with issues do the same through Office of Inspector General and Americans with Disabilities Act representatives.
