My friend Roger adopted 2 beagles from CBR.Both times he was so impressed with the staff. They communicated very well with him, extremely helpful ,personable ,friendly, went above and beyond with him. He is so grateful and thankful for Darlene and Carol and the entire staff. I highly recommend this organization.

Have been involved with CBR for eight years and have adopted one beagle. This is a volunteer organization that goes above and beyond to rescue beagles (and beagle mixes) and give them a new opportunity for a good life. They support adopters and work very hard to ensure that dogs and families will be well matched. It can be heartbreaking at times to see the situations that the dogs are being rescued from, but watching them be adopted and loved and the stories that are shared because of this organization are inspiring.

Rescued our beagle from CBR and they were so helpful. They notified us of a dog that was available that they thought would be a good fit. Turns out he's the BEST fit and just the bestest boy! Thanks for helping us get our little beagle boy!

I adopted through Colorado Beagle Rescue and couldn't be happier. My beagle came in on a C.A.R.E. transport from Kansas, so I met her when I went to pick her up. January, 2018, was the 7th anniversary of her adoption. Colorado Beagle Rescue has been there to support, answer questions, and even kept 'my guys' safe when I was hospitalized for four months. I have three beagles - one is 15+, the second 7+ and the third 3+. I donate whenever I can and can't say enough good things about this wonderful group. Yes, beagles can be stubborn and they're escape artists - but they're also happy go lucky, trusting, loyal and fun loving. Understand the breed before you adopt - be prepared and know you'll be well rewarded!!

We have adopted 2 Beagle babies from CBR. This organization is the best! They save some of the most mistreated and left behind beagles from shelters all over the US, they treat and care for them until they are ready to be adopted and screen adoptive parents before allowing for adoption. We love this organization and Darlene is the best.

CBR is a great organization that has helped sooooo many beagles. We just adopted our 2nd beagle and couldn't be happier. We also attend events that are put on the organization like the summer picnic! They provide veterinary services to the beagles to make sure they're healthy enough to be adopted, and a large network of volunteers are involved. Even if you can't adopt, feel free to reach out and see how you can help!

These volunteer do the best they can. I waited months for the perfect dog and they matched one for me. Everyone has an opinion on the well being of a dog. They are there to put the dog in the best position to succeed considering the were put up for adoption. Thanks, I love my Bella.

I would have given them zero stars if I could. My family was interested in getting a beagle so we decided to give the Colorado Beagle Rescue a try. The experience was terrible. Communication was almost non- existent. They have an answering machine, but no one would return our calls and when they finally were returned, the people did not seem to want to help us. I sent in my application and it took weeks before someone finally got around to pick it up. I understand that they are all volunteers, but this process took far too long. When someone finally picked up my application I got two calls from the women who run the organization. Although one of the women seemed nice, the other one was extremely condescending and very rude. Both my mother and I talked to her and she basically told us that we had no idea how to raise dogs. Between everyone in my family, we have decades of experience owning a variety of breeds of dogs. This really upset us. The website gave us the idea that we would be involved in picking our dog, but they would not let us see any of the available dogs. We realized that they would ultimately be picking the dog for us. The Beagle Rescue also doesn't seem to want to give you a dog if you have cats. Their website had some dogs that said they got along well with cats, but the woman on the phone told me that they had no dogs that got along well with cats. There is really no way of knowing whether a dog will get along with a cat other than letting them interact together. The lady on the phone also got mad at me because I did not want to adopt an older animal. She honestly made me and my family feel terrible. The audacity of this women in particular was disgusting. I am not saying that everyone at this organization is terrible, but this woman really needs to think about how she treats people. We ultimately decided to adopt from the Dumb Friends League after this experience. The process was easier, friendlier, and all around better. There was no judgement cast in the adoption process and we are VERY happy with the dog we ended up with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE COLORADO BEAGLE RESCUE. Go to the shelters and pick out your dog instead!
