I've been so frustrated with the BLM website and maps as a buddy of mine and I have been trying for months to plan a trip. We had absolutely no clue where blm land was, what the rules were as far as fires, camping, shooting etc. They are not transparent and it's very difficult to know what you're doing. On that I'd give one star for sure. However this review is about the phone call I made to the gunnison office. I talked to a wonderfulll lady named Madelyn. (not sure if I spelled it right) she was so energetic and happy to talk to me, understood all of my concerns and on some of the specific topics she went and did the research for me, then called me back on a later date to lay out everything I needed to know. I would do anything to have customer service like that everywhere else I go but people like her are a rare breed. Thank you so much!!

If you’re looking for an agency to shut down access to areas via closing existing two tracks then these are your people. I can’t believe the number of barricades and closed signs on the two tracks around the Gunnison area. It’s honestly embarrassing to boast this public land and then close off access.
