I attended my 1st event and will NEVER attend again. Was treated by Joan, the founder of this organization, with condescension. I confronted her about it and her response to me was I could leave if I didnt like her behavior. I then chose to leave the event prior to admission to the theater and walked 2 miles back to my home.
When signing up for an event, there is no disclosure about any criteria required by senior attendees or of liability waiver requirements. Seniors who attend events are required to pay $5 in cash, are driven to the event venue by volunteer drivers in their personal vehicles and then are led by Joan, the head of this organization, at the event venue in a condescending manner and treats senior ADULTS as children. I found this to be offensive.

She required us to "buddy up" and walk hand in hand or arm in arm into the theater. She stated the head of the theater at CU would only permit us entry in this manner. I asked if this was for liability purposes. She denied that and stated that this is her first CU event and if we did not comply, that her organization would be denied future event attendance at CU. I found this difficult to believe given she has been operating h organization for decades in Boulder.
She also insisted 9n taking multiple group pictures at the venue, delaying our arrival at the entrance, most likely to post on her website for promotional purposes. I never signed anything permitting photographic images.

The Volunteer drivers are generously contributing their time and at their own expense of providing transportation and the paying of parking fees. I wonder if Circle of Care requires volunteer drivers to sign liability waivers and carry adequate personal automobile insurance.

Great concept to engage seniors to reduce loneliness and isolation. But I wonder about the legalities and the exploitation of seniors for her own profit. This is allegedly a nonprofit organization

I will never attend another of these events.

I've volunteered with Circle of Care for more than 10 years. A unique and amazing program that Boulder County is very lucky to have. Senior citizens that can become isolated and uninvolved are provided transportation, a volunteer escort and tickets to events of 50+ partners and become re-engaged in the community. A Win Win Win for seniors, volunteers and cultural partners.

Circle of Care is an amazing nonprofit that culturally cares for isolated seniors in the Boulder County area. Seniors are brought to a variety of musical and theatrical performances that they just love. What a blessing!

This is an amazing organization that brings joy and meaning to the lives of seniors through donated tickets and transportation to the arts. They also create an opportunity for intergenerational interaction through their volunteer program. This is a win-win-win program for people, the community and the arts!
