I don’t normal order dessert, but our food was taking longer than expected. They came and proactively apologized and offered us a free drink and appetizer. We had noticed it was taking a while but didn’t go up and complain. I thought it was amazing customer service to have them proactively come over and offer something to us.

I was really glad to learn about Good Neighbor Garage. My old car needed more work than I wanted to pay for, so I decided to get rid of it. I didn't expect much trade value and I didn't want to go the Craigslist route to sell it. There are a lot of nonprofits that accept cars, but this is the only one I've heard of that will fix up and give cars to needy folks if repairs can be reasonably done.

The donation process was very easy with a call and a few emails. They made arrangements to have the car towed at a time that worked for me and I got a receipt for the donation in about a week.

The process of donating a car to Hands was positive and efficient the entire way. It was incredible that they volunteered to come pick it up from us and we’re prompt in getting the tax receipt for us. We have supported Hands of the Carpenter for years through our church and value their service to the community .

If you are looking to donate a vehicle, Good Neighbor Garage is a great place to do it in my opinion. Too many charities (almost all of them) simply send your donated vehicle to auction, then use the proceeds for their work. But if your vehicle is in good shape, its "worth" is far greater than its monetary value, especially to a person in need. If the vehicle is in decent shape, GNG actually gives it to a person who needs one, which is how I think it should be done. In any event, the whole process was straightforward and professional, and I will look to them in the future if I have another vehicle to donate.

Overall, glad to have donated to this charity. Dan got ahold of us after the below posting and let us know there were several unusual factors involving our donation and the prior unresponsiveness. After that point Dan was very gracious and communicative while resolving the situation.

We donated our old car but even after a couple attempts getting ahold of them, they never let us know what happened to it for tax reporting etc. We wound up running a VIN search and saw it went to auction; would have been nice to have gotten a receipt. Hopefully the money went to good use. Next time I'll give directly to someone in need of it, or sell/ take it to salvage myself and give the cash to a reputable charity.

Super easy, really kind and flexible. They worked with my schedule to make it easy to arrange a pick up, and the communication was spot on. They were up front about the use of the vehicle and funds. I absolutely recommend them if you're looking for a place to retire your car.

Good Neighbor Garage helped me out so much during a difficult time; I now can get to my job that pays really well & won't have to struggle with RTD again, cause the population here has gotten pretty high, increasing traffic & travel times. I went by there today though & a Rock Auto is now there, I was told it went out of business 🙁 The owner, Art, was a really great guy, I hope he re-opens again!
