Amazing!!! I got my first baby here back in May of 2024! She is the best thing ever! Super sweet and lovey. Skye is the sweetest kitty and absolutely the best! Jokingly she should have been half price because she only has half a tail 🤪

My baby was missing for 5 weeks. I checked every facebook post every cat website and the humane society website every single day for 5 weeks. Calling in every time I saw someone who looked like my boy. They were always nice and always let me look at the cats.

Yesterday, i saw him on their site and rushed right over because the phone lines were busy. (Happens) lots of people lose pets I'm finding out.

It was him. I cried my husband cried and we got to take our baby home. We got him chipped and licensed, we got him shots and they let us take him home.

They had trapped him during routine trap and releases and he was too friendly. The smart trappers brought him in and got him to me. Im so thankful and relieved. I never gave up and they saved me son.

Now he is back with his brothers and sister. They are OVER THE MOON. I'd never seen cats get "excited" before. They all swarmed him and sniffed him and licked him.

Rescued a black lab about 3 years ago and he's been my buddy ever sense. I took my son in a few weeks ago because we were doing a donation and the staff was friendly. Everyone greeted us and asked if they could help.

I regret having to leave this review because I support the work the humane society should be doing. In December 2024 I adopted a cat from foster care who I was told had moderate behavioral issues that would make her tough adoption case. As such, I was very hands off after bringing her home. She wouldn’t let me pick her up. She wouldn’t let me touch her face ears or mouth and she spent most of her time hiding. She couldn’t be coaxed into a carrier again. She couldn’t be coaxed out of hiding to the point of aggression for two months.

After three months, she was finally comfortable enough to let me look in her ears, and her ears were filthy. She seems to have had a serious infection of ear mites from her original home (likely not the foster home), causing extreme distress and pain. She’s been a completely different cat since the ear mites were treated.

This is a risk you run adopting any shelter pet but HSPPR claims there was no signs of ear mites in her initial exam with them. I find this unbelievable, given the level of filth in her ears three months later. Their initial exam and treatment was negligent and labeled her sickness and distress as “behavioral problems” and it was convenient to blame it on me despite the other household pets having clean ears. They are all indoor only.

All I asked was that they waive her exam fee. I would pay for the treatments for her and treatments/fees for the other pets of mine possibly exposed since she was a difficult adoption, to make up for their negligence.

They refused. I feel like this was a one star experience, and exposed their willingness to create a high risk adoption center as well as expose foster volunteers to parasites in their homes. I would not recommend HSPPR as an adoption center for this reason.

There is always risk but this was unnecessary risk. Animals shouldn’t be left to suffer like that. I have no way to prove the cat came with them but I will also never take a risk with HSPPR again because I know she didn’t get them from my home and I’m beyond disappointed that a sick cat was labeled a mere behavior problem.

Me and my husband had been talking about getting a dog since we started living together, early December we went snowboarding and there was a festival for Bernese dogs and thought no way could we handle a dog like a Bernese. On the way home we passed by a an adoption center and I got the idea to start looking cause we’ve been talking about getting a dog, most of the places closed in the next hour so we looked at human society! I saw a dog that sadly wasn’t available at the location so we decided to still look. We came across the most beautiful pair, A 10 yr old Australian Shepherd and a 6 yr old Bernese! They were cuddled together and their stories were just perfect for our household, we weren’t planning on getting a bonded pair but once we were able to meet these sweet pups we considered their age, health and of course happiness! They had been surrendered only 4 days prior to us showing up. We knew considering they were seniors and bonded it would take some time for them to get adopted out by someone else so we decided it should be us!. I couldn’t be happier with this unexpected surprise and the sweetest, most spry pups! The process was lengthy but makes up for their life time of happiness and the staff that worked with us were very informative and helpful. Thank you guys so much!

First time using the humane society for a vet appointment. We usually use our own vet; however, they wanted $400 for a feline neuter and others wanted anything from $300-$600. The humane society could do it for $90. They then offered to do all shots too for a total of $180
Well worth it and much economically friendly.

The staff were friendly and the facility clean and modern.
