Rampart Resevior Loop Trail - This place was peaceful and a beautiful walk, about 1 1/2 - 2 hours for a leisure walk to the reservoir and back to parking area. There are mountain lions in that area, we saw one there in the middle of afternoon, it may be better if you bring a dog or some kind of protection, keep your little ones close!

The trail system was designed by those not hiking or biking. They have screwed up UCCS open space trails by funneling bikes and hikers into onto one trail. The new trails are not sustainable, and they've destroyed the landscape.
I'll continue my deviance and put my rogue trails back for the good of us that use the open space.
Such a waste. A perfectly good system that worked for both the hiking and biking communities was ruined. WHY?

The moonlight hike is overcrowded, they sell too many tickets and there is absolutely no parking. People were parking & walking down 30th Street just to get to the visitor center, it was very dangerous. It's great to raise money for a charity, but they are not running this event correctly. They should only be selling a limited amount of tickets so that it is not so overcrowded... I guess it's all about money nowadays and not the cause.
