All questions are welcome here; you don't have to conform to a list of acceptable beliefs to be embraced. The kind, loving people will welcome you. The pastors are insightful and warm. Every chance I get, I attend here. I'm "married" to my own church, but HRCC is my mistress. 😂

We love Heart of the Rockies - great programs and community for kids, teens, young adults and families! My husband and I have been coming here for over a year and we feel so loved and welcomed by Pastors Melissa and Wendy. They are leading a group of people who live God’s word by welcoming into worship everyone (and yes that means EVERYONE!) There are great service opportunities and I particularly love singing in the choir and helping out with the Wednesday night youth groups! Thank you for re-awakening my love of church after so much religious trauma.

This church does not value the lives of animals. They are responsible for the killing of an entire colony of prairie dogs on their property. I would expect a church to value the lives of all living things and make an effort to relocate the animals that gave been living there for years. If there were in fact complaints about safety, health and property concerns, there are less cruel measures they could have considered. The prairie dogs were only on the church's property and I have not heard of a single incident of endangerment to any of those in our neighborhood. Please take ownership of your actions and choices to "mitigate" this prairie dog community rather than relocating them.

I am totally disgusted by this church's decision to slaughter a prairie dog colony using toxins that take upwards of four excruciating days to kill them. They bleed out and suffocate. The poison this church used has a history of harming any animal who inhales the fumes, including humans! In fact, two children in Utah died after they inhaled the fumes. Look it up yourself. This church claims to be compassionate to all living beings, being disciples of Christ. I guess that's true as long as those beings are human. I'm so angry I can't even speeak.

Look up the word 'fumitoxin'. It is a poison that's listed in the "severely inhumane" category states the Prairie Dog Coalition of the Humane Society of the United States: "Gas is absorbed through respiratory passages, entering the bloodstream. Causes internal hemorrhage leading to convulsions, paralysis and coma." "As a matter of protecting the public’s health, safety, general welfare, and the environment, local governments should be keenly interested in when, where, and why pesticides are applied. Many local governments have adopted pesticide management plans that provide details about application and require permitting."

It is not a quick death like 'humane euthanasia' and often takes several days before they die. This church justified poisoning god's creatures to make way for a housing development. They poisoned prairie dogs without any warning to their nearby neighbors! They used excuses rather than reaching out to a relocation group like Prairie Protection Colorado. This church clearly doesn't care about saving an important Colorado keystone species. This was not "mitigation", it was animal cruelty and they are hypocrites!

The fact is that this organization slaughtered an entire prairie dog colony because of greed and convenience. And then they have the audacity to lie to their neighbors and respond to questions about the occurrence with blanket and vague responses. Smells like politics to me. Im guessing your members would have thrown more into the donation basket to ensure these animals were not harmed, but rather relocated. Im assuming you did not even consider it.

I have never attended their services but I have dine a lot of volunteer work there. They have a really good program and the people running it are so nice. The "behind the scenes" work they do is phenomenal and very organized.
I've enjoyed working with people of others faiths here. It was a neat experience.
