I was stuck in Fort Collins for a couple days longer than expected due to bad weather back home and during this time I hopped online to shop around for a local bike shop who had some gravel bikes in stock.

After checking inventory at REI they were my first stop, which was a mistake. I spoke with one of their staff about gravel bikes and he was beyond lethargic and basically told me the only bike they had in stock my size wasn't very good, was old new stock and the components were bottom tier - and this was their house brand... so I guess kudos for the honesty but he also offered no solutions or alternatives, which is kind of a pet peeve of mine.

The next morning I went to Drake Cycles and was immediately greeted, asked what I was looking for, what I currently had and what my expectations were with a new bike - in other words, was offered service, solutions and an educated purchase opportunity all within 15 minutes of arrival.

After choosing the potential bike, I was offered a "quick fit for a test ride" and out the door I went. The bike, a Rocky Mountain Solo 30, was immediately comfortable (thanks for the quick sizing and saddle adjustment prior to ride) and I bought the bike immediately on return and after calling my wife to let her know. The only reason I bring up the phone call to my wife is we all had a good laugh that "Since she didn't answer, she can't say NO".

Thanks guys for a great shopping experience, I will not just be coming back but will think of my positive experience with every painful hill climb for years to come!

I was in town for work, and I had an opportunity to ride, so I rented a mnt bike from Drakes and had an awesome experience. Not like the hills of East Tennessee, but definitely just as beautiful.
Nice shop and some really nice employees. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I went to several bike shops around Fort Collins looking to get new bikes. Drakes was the first shop that actually provided us customer service, helped us figure out sizing and what type of bike to get. We ended up getting two bikes for a great price! We will definitely return for any other biking needs!

My son goes to school at CSU and someone attempted to steal his bike. In the process they mangler the derailleur and chain and broke some spokes. I was up visiting and wanted to help him get it fixed but not spend too much as it's a cheap commuter. Eric was amazing. He took a look and provided an estimate knowing the bike wasn't worth much. No upsell on extras, just a focus on getting him rolling again. Got the text a day later (super convenient) staying out was ready. When my son went to pick it up they even helped him load it into his car. Great service. I highly recommend. We live up in the mountains just west of the divide. I wish we had that level of service at our local shops.

Drake Cycles is our home shop and we use them for all of our bike needs (mountain, gravel, commuting) . However, I just had Drake oversee a fun Burley Tandem rebuild that was a surprise birthday present for my wife. Eli and the Drake Team patiently walked me through options on the rebuild, and it was a little complicated due to the age and condition of the bike. It was fun sourcing some parts from used places and having other parts ordered new, or using what Drake had in stock. The mechanic work was top notch! My wife came home from work and was completely surprised by the bike and thrilled by how smooth it rides. Thanks Drake!

I purchased a bike and needed a few things to get it ready to ride. There are a ton of bike shops, but ironically Drake Cycles was the only business to answer their phone during busy hours.

They adjusted my rear rim spikes and had some other components and maintenence products I also needed. The people there are super cool. It’s nice talking to people that really know about bikes and just enjoy the hobby in general. Great experience! I’m sure I’ll be going back again soon.

These guys went out of their way to be communicative, polite, genuinely honest. I brought it a bit of an odd ball as I drop off a Super 73 e-bike to install and had them install a 10speed cassette and a bunch of other parts. Other e-bike shops in town pushed me away super quickly and these guys were amazing. Ended up buying a bunch of other toys and scooters from them just because they were so awesome. 15/10

Getting back into cycling and brought my bikes in for tires and general tuning. The guys at this shop are great. Friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend them!
