I’ve stayed here several times and have never had any problems. The staff is very friendly and will help you with anything you need. The breakfast is great and it changes daily. The Mountain View rooms are even better (if you get them). It’s pet friendly as well, but if you don’t see any dogs then you would never know they are here. We love this place.

During my recent stay at the hotel while visiting my son in the army, Victoria, the night front desk lady, truly went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. My son had booked the hotel room for me, and I was a bit weary about it at first, but Victoria quickly put my worries to rest. From the moment I arrived, her warm and welcoming demeanor made me feel right at home. She was always ready with a smile and eager to help with any questions I had about local dining options or attractions, providing detailed and thoughtful recommendations that made my visit even more enjoyable.

Victoria's exceptional service and genuine kindness were evident in every interaction. She consistently went the extra mile to ensure I had everything I needed, and her attention to detail and dedication to her job were truly remarkable. My experience with Victoria was just as wonderful as my past visits to the Broadmoor, which speaks volumes about her consistent excellence. Her outstanding hospitality is the reason why I will always choose this hotel for my future visits. As long as Victoria is working there, this hotel will be my top choice. She truly made a significant difference in my experience, and I can't thank her enough for her exceptional care and kindness.

IHG Candlewood Suites – Fort Carson

Ah, the IHG Candlewood Suites on Fort Carson—a true oasis in the desert of military lodging. If the barracks are the DMV, then this place is the first-class lounge at an airport. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with actual hospitality (a rare commodity on base), clean surroundings, and—wait for it—fully functioning air conditioning!

The rooms? Absolute luxury compared to barracks life. Spacious, clean, and designed for actual human comfort, they come with a full kitchen setup, so you can finally cook something other than ramen or chow hall leftovers. The bed? Plush enough that you’ll question if you even deserve such comfort after years of rock-hard barracks mattresses.

Amenities include:
✔️ A well-equipped gym, so you can actually enjoy PT for once.
✔️ A lending locker with small appliances and games—because sometimes you just need a slow cooker and a board game.
✔️ Free laundry facilities that work more consistently than any barracks washer ever has.
✔️ A pantry stocked with snacks, because sometimes the late-night cravings hit harder than a PT test on a Monday.

And let’s not forget the peace and quiet. No surprise 0200 fire alarms, no unexpected room inspections—just good ol’ uninterrupted sleep (unless your unit finds a reason to wake you up early anyway).

Final verdict? If you’re on orders, TDY, or just looking for a break from the barracks, the IHG Candlewood Suites is the best place to be. 5/5 stars—would absolutely recommend to anyone with access to a government travel card.

Hotel is way overpriced compared to other army bases. When I filed a legitimate complaint, pretty sure they flagged my name in the ihg system. I also had issues with the front desk personnel being rude. Do not recommend this hotel.

The staff was welcoming, especially Patty. She was all over the place, helping people out, trying her best to accommodate the guests, and doing it all with kindness. Patty is a gem. Also, the housekeeping team worked so hard even with minimal people. Really, all the staff members there were great.

Great for the price. Rooms are clean and layout is perfect for a family of 4. Avoid room 100, or any rooms near the stairs. Doors slam early in the morning and late into the evening. Stairs are also loud and easy to hear through the walls. Not that quiet but breakfast was great.

As others have mentioned, the omelets did have cheese in them so my son wasn't able to eat them. He ended up just having to eat a muffin. Very disappointed that he couldn't enjoy some real eggs. There was no bacon and the sausage did not smell right at all. We did enjoy the coffee though as well as the hazelnut creamer option 😀. The room was very nice and plenty of space. The beds were wonderful. My first negative part is, my son was charged civilian price which absolutely was not right. The man at the front was rude, hateful and almost demeaning to my sons.Second, we watched in disbelief when he was rude to a customer on the phone and refused to help her understand how to work the oven. He just held the phone away from his body and just got madder and madder. Not okay to begin with but it sure wasn't okay in front of other customers. If it weren't for the hateful employee, I would have given a 4 star review. Customer service should always be first. Being rude, angry, hateful, and not giving military their rate, will definitely cause non-repeat customers. This one is definitely over priced.
