The nice people who work here and run this facility are AMAZING! My wife takes her 88-year-old mother here daily, and she absolutely loves it...that's no small feat. We recently attended a special function as a family, and it was a wonderful experience for all of us. The facility is awesome as well and is quite impressive. We cannot say enough good things about the Senior Resource Center and the tremendous staff. Mickey says Hi 👋

Senior Resource Center at 3227 Chase St in Wheat Ridge is the MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR in the positive care of my sweet almost 103 year old mother (near total memory loss of her life and about 10 minute retention of current conversations, etc) who has been coming for about a year. I had utilized a senior care business for a few hours a week several months, but this is far beyond quality and scope of that. We have been thrilled with SRC - the MOST significant addition to our in-home care that has provided her with our goal...excellent physical care, stimulating activities (including her love of music), companionship beyond just me (her 24/7)... set in a very safe, secure "community" of similar elders (some with significant memory issues like her) and incredible staff members who greet her with utmost respect, tenderness, humor...in short constantly surround her with JOY! The goal is to provide Mom with final years/months/days ("the future is not ours to see, Que Sera" - her favorite song) with SUPER CARE, good food, fun each and every day...A tall order for one person (me) to always accomplish, but SRC gives her 3 times a week. SRC is WONDERFUL - I see her beaming with happiness and more conversational at end of each day, though she remembers nothing about what she did...what is essential is the "in the moment" feelings of fun and belonging. I am also amazed watching how alert, gracious and clear staff is in redirecting other clients whose dementia makes them want to wander... SRC security is great!

In addition, I have had the pleasure of them coming into our home to clean carpets ...again these people were gracious and professional. SRC is the best!

Absolutely recommend this facility! Some really wonderful folks work here and really care about their guests. My father-in-law goes 5 days a week and I can't tell you how much he enjoys going here. They show him great respect and are very attentive to his needs.

In a panic, I contacted the Center for help with deep cleaning. The response I received was cordial, but the program is in tremendous demand. Due to a cancellation, a very polite, effective, volunteer came to assist me. The man was tremendous! I would recommend this organization to anyone!

My complaint is not on the center it's self. But today when I went for my daughter. Three drivers from this place where driving crazy. Myself being a caregiver I would not put one of my people on these buses. I did call I sure hope it is followed up on. Alot of companies let that go. I hope they did not have anyone on these buses at that time.

Today I don't wish to give it any stars. It won't let me post it unless I do so. Overall I would rate them much higher in the stars, but this review has to do with my most recent experience. The other day I received a card from Ms. Heister regarding a meeting she wanted to arrange. Although she didn't come out and say it was for money raising, I knew it was. I called immediately after I received the note from her and left a message that I was dealing with bone cancer at the time and the well had run dry which meant I was not able to continue to contribute money. I have contributed over the years not only money but services as well. I would at least have thought she would have given me a courtesy call but she did not. I called again today and left a message for her to return my call. But then after thinking about it, I decided to put my feelings in writing for all to see and let her know that she didn't have to call me back, that I would be posting it on line.

Senior Resource is a definite value to the community. It has allowed people in the community who have no other transportation to get to their doctors, grocery stores, etc. They have many other services which are available and which I have not had to use. I have brought tasties to the people who service the transportation department and have always received a thank you note.

So I hope the fact that I can no longer contribute means I am of no use to them any more. That is exactly the way Ms. Heister has made me feel.

This is an addition to the review and what happened after Ms. Heister called yesterday to express her thanks and how sorry she was that I had bone cancer, that she knew how I felt because she had lost both her parents to cancer. What a way to shift the sorry bit. I told her I was surprised that I had not heard from her earlier and that was what prompted my posting this on line. Again she said this was the first time she had heard about it. I told her no, that I had responded after I got her written solicitation. She then made the remark that it had to have been before she sent out the note. I am suffering from bone cancer not dementia. I would not have even known her name had the handwritten card not arrived. She said she didn't want to argue about it. At that point neither did I. I thanked her for her call with some sarcasm in my voice, hung up and took a pill for anxiety that I was dealing with after her phone call.

Despite what just transpired, I still believe SRC offers many needed services and that they mostly hire people who are honest, forthright and portray their emotions in a more loving and caring way with not only people who have contributed, but people who are no longer able to help out (whether financially or otherwise) or those who have never contributed at all but are just human beings who have needs that somehow need to be met. However, every now and then someone in charge needs to give lessons to those staff members on how to handle delicate situations such as this one in a more professional manner.

Once again to all those at SRC who have generously given of their time and services and who continue to do so I thank you from the very bottom of my heart. SRC offers much needed care and services to those in the area who no longer have living family or friends to help them out and no other way of accessing transportation or other additional day to day needs. I am greatful to have been able to do so over the years, whether it was with money, serving the daily meals, setting up tables and cleaning up afterward, washing up utensils, etc. preparing and/or selling cookies at the Carnation festival, setting up tables for various holiday lunches or dinners or putting together and/or getting out fliers. I would never let this one bad experience outweigh all the joyful and wonderful services and things SRC offers to the community as a whole.

I never said don't contact me. It was the dishonesty about why I was being contacted and the handling of the entire situation.
