Wonderful place and the sweetest staff there, except for the very unfriendly man that sits in the same place close to the fruit. I have food allergies. I have to read labels. He said, "Just take it and move on." I told him he needs to learn how to be nice. He just stared at me. No change of expression and no apology. He should not be there.

This place is truly such a blessing. Kathy and all the volunteers work so hard every day to keep Joy's running and to bless the community. It is a wonderful place to donate your time and money to if you are in a position to do so. Joy's rescues thousands of pounds of perfectly good food from grocery stores every week that would otherwise be thrown out. There are no requirements to come get food, they only ask that you get what you need and be mindful of others, since there are so many people in need right now. It is also a great place to try new food items that you wouldn't normally buy!
Thank you, Joy's, for everything!!!

I have never had to go to a food bank before but lately I’ve been struggling. I was nervous enough but the staff here made me feel absolutely terrible. I was the only person there and the lady there kept telling me I needed to hurry up and that I was going too slow (I was simply just looking at things with no one behind me and didn’t really know what I was doing). Extremely abrupt and demeaning. Then, the old man wouldn’t even speak to me just gestured with his fingers like I would to my dogs when I want them to go. The only person who was sweet was the young man welcoming people in. If yall don’t have a heart for people why on earth are you there? Made me afraid to ever try to find help again. I won’t be back although, by your actions and attitude, I’d assume you don’t like people there anyways.

Never thought I'd give a bad review to a food bank.

I saw the old man running the numbers table grab someone else's child for being "too loud". The child wasn't about to step into traffic or anything he was just being a little kid.

Good food if you can get a high number they pass out at random. Every other food bank operates on a first-come, first-served basis, you wait in an orderly line. Here, they pass out numbers at random. So the gentleman next to me who had just sat down got number 5, and I got number 41 even though I had been waiting half an hour. I saw an elderly gentleman with a walker get there around the same time I did, he was still waiting outside after I got my food. If I had known he had gotten a higher number I would have given it to him.

Great gift to the community. I love that this resource is available to all and you don’t need to live anywhere specific or have a certain income to qualify. Volunteers can offer service to this resource most days of the week and can sign up online.
