Wonderful historic train station. New owner's using and maintaining for tourists and seniors in the area. Wide variety of activities from morning exercises, a good lunch, card games, socializing and my favorite the Wednesday 7 to 9 pm dances with live local music.

We started going here. We wanted to get involved with the community. It was not a welcoming place. We were forced to sign up to have the lunch system and they wanted all kinds of personal information. We haven't been back since.

The Florence Senior Community Center services an excellent breakfast. They also have a wonderful group of musicians that pool their talents weekly for a "Come One Come All" Jam session preceded by a potluck. Some of the musicians are professional and others just love music. You'll enjoy yourself!

Small town pioneers and snow birds yes that's right a snow bird in Southern Florence Colorado? You don't day? Wether it was the weather or even cheddar that blew you round the parts, Florence Colorado has creative cool cozy hard working committed close family friendly volunteer base that involves each with warm welcoming ways. These ladies and gentlemen contribute more to the social service sector in all areas than your general administave offices. The live band at the GAC on Wednesday has moved to the Depot in Florence. Richard and his mother inlaw are a lot of fun. They play a mix of dancing tunes.
