I asked him if he could help me talk to the police about a complaint I had regarding the way officers' were treating autistic individuals poorly (which is a recurring pattern in this society). John has MANY connections with various different police departments (mostly Jefferson County), but he told me that he was "uncomfortable walking into the Lakewood Police Station with me. That was confusing to me, because he clearly knows how to talk to the police. But when I had follow-up questions about why he didn't think it was a good idea, he just got mad at me for asking and failed to explain anything. He later told my mother on the phone that he was frustrated that I "failed to understand how busy his schedule was." Basically that was a lie, because if he had even bothered to mention to me that his schedule was too busy for me, I would have understood completely. But he had said no such thing to me, like I was just supposed to read his mind or something. For someone who claims to understand people with autism, he uses a lot of passive aggressive, indirect language in failing to get his points across effectively.

John Davis does wonders with young men in crisis. He has been working with our family for over a year and has helped us tremendously. John is a former champion athlete. His passion for climbing and passion for helping kids and families, along with his education and experience, make him a lifesaver (literally) not only to the boys and men he works with, but also to their families.

3 years ago I was introduced to 2xtreme as a resource to help my son who, at the time, was self-medicating with anything he could get his hands on. My son was lost and I wanted him back. I was referred to 2xtreme by a vice principal at my son's school. Upon my research, I found that they work with at risk young men and families who are in a crisis. During our first appointment, the approach taken by John Davis of 2xtreme, was extraordinarily different as he was able to pinpoint my sons struggles and name them. Taken back by what we had encountered that day, I knew and my son knew that this was the place for him to find himself and to begin to heal. Over these 3 years, not only was my son cared for, but my family was as well. A relationship that consisted of thoughtfulness, communication, experientials, care, integrity, humility, vulnerability and love is what brought not only my son, but my family closer. My son and I are both stronger mentally, physically and spiritually, and we are still evolving. I owe so much to 2xtreme and John Davis, the words Thank You just don't seem to match what they have done, sacrificially, for me and my family.
