Everything we had to deal with while adopting our puppy, then called Ronan, everything good came from Crystal, who was on it, working hard and if she didn't know an answer, she found an answer quickly. It was very busy in the reception area but everyone else was kind.
The problem is that we took a very sick 5 month old puppy home
Atticus ( previously Ronan) had been neutered the day before where the vet pronounced him "apparently healthy"
Atticus had an extremely runny nose where the mucus, snot was thick and green, now, a week later he's on numerous meds and has added coughing to his illness...hes one sick puppy. He should be running around and being a puppy.
.he just lays there...sick
My point here is to be very very careful when adopting a pet of any age. This has been a very costly experience, to sweet Atticus and to us monetarily. I hope that this illness will finally go away and Atticus can enjoy his puppyhood ( he's so precious and smart) we can enjoy playing with and spoiling him.

The staff there is incredibly helpful and very good with all of the animals that come to that place. The building is much older than the newer one in Loveland. So they are limited to the amount of space in that building. So quarters are a little smaller than the Loveland location. But they are holding great events like zero adoption fees for June (maybe longer)...

We went a week ago to see about getting a PUP to train for a service dog for my daughter, who has stage 4 Congestive Heart Failure, we found a beautiful Pitty that we named Davina, she is in basics training right now! She loves other dogs, every humane she comes in contact with, she in one week knows how to sit, heal, share her toys and food with my 7 lb Yorkie who is 14 and a grumpy old man! She is absolutely adorable and well-behaved, but she is a PUP and learning quickly what her boundaries are and what she is and isn't allowed to do! She is known to the NOCO Humane Society as Gumbo!

I Just adopted an amazing pup from here but I will get to that in a minute. I would like to address al these horrible reviews.
I am somewhat of a dog expert have worked with dogs for over 30 years in many capacities and have also volunteered at many shelters . It is one of the hardest jobs I have ever done. These people have to see horrible treatment of animals and wonderful animals put to sleep. I myself volunteered to help euthanize dogs so they had a person loving them while they passed . I held every single dog so their last memory was love.
A lot of these dogs are strays or come from bad situations and as hard as they try to make sure every animal is healthy mistakes can be made or things not noticed because of the volume they have to deal with. Kennel cough is not a rare thing it is super common and it is airborne so your dog can get it going for a walk or from a dog in the neighborhood. When you adopt you take on that responsibility. Blaming the shelter when all they are trying to do is help animals is unfair. They do their best and no one is perfect!!!
That being said I just adopted an amazing dog from them . They were very upfront about his behavior issues (he was a surrender so they knew more than usual). I wanted a dog that would be hard to adopt out for issues like he had because I am good at fixing behavior issues.
I went to meet him with my dog on the first day and my dog was very aloof . She was not reactive but she ignored him totally uninterested . We decided to bring her back and try again and bring my husband so they could meet because he was said to be afraid and possibly aggressive towards men. We came back another day and he met my husband jumped up and kissed him almost immediately. Then we moved outside and let the dogs meet again and mine was still a little aloof but opened up a little more. The trainer came out and she thought they would be Ok since my girl just walked away when he tried to play. I explained that she would warm up I mean she is a girl gotta buy her dinner first :).
Casper has been home with me for 5 days now. My girl slowly warmed up to him at first she would play for like 5 minutes and be done and now they play until they can't anymore .
He ended up being very well behaved he has a couple issues like separation anxiety which we are working on and he opens doors and kennels but he is learning.
That being said my experience was really good they were open and honest with me from day one.
Just remember when you are adopting a dog or a cat e from a shelter they do not often know the history of the dogs or cats and they may miss things its not intentional they are there because they love animals and they also are treated like crap by people and have to see animals suffer at the hands of people . They also get screwed adopting out animals to people who lie and then they get them back in worse shape than they were.
Take a minute and think if you had to deal with that all the time how you would be. They have rules to follow for a reason.
I would like to say thank you to them for doing the best they can with what they have and keep up the good work. Casper is loving life and now has a forever home no matter what issues arise.
Again Thank you for all you do I am sure you don't hear it enough.

Drove 2 hours both ways to pick up my pup! The animal care technicians were super awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable about the dogs! I arrived early and had to wait til adoption actually opened(totally fine) but once the process started I was in and out pretty quickly with my new friend. Also, the other adopters were friendly and made the experience even better! Thanks for my new baby!

NEVR adopt from this place. First red flag should've been that the cat I adopted was allowed to be adopted out 2 days after being spayed. Second red flag should've been that she had a obvious bump on her stomach where she had stitches from being spayed. She had an infection from how dirty that place is. Her paperwork also said that she was dewormed. However, as I discovered today she has worms. I am giving her antibiotics for the infection and now have to deworm her as well. This place does NOT take care of the animals in their care!

Great experience! I spotted a kitten on their website Tuesday evening and arranged to arrive at noon yesterday. I was able to meet him quickly and got time to play with him before deciding he was coming home with me. He’d arrived with a sister, but she had been adopted Tuesday. My family and I decided to travel to the Larimer campus as soon as we finished up to grab him a new sister. Both locations were amazing. They keep thorough health records and their adoption fees are very reasonable. As I leave this review, I have two happy balls of fur purring on my lap.
