We love IHCYR! It has been a great experience for our 12 year old daughter. She has learned so much from Ms. Susan, she is caring, extremely knowledgeable and works around our schedule regularly. My daughter has been able to experience more at this barn then possible at most places. Ms. Susan has provided various experiences for my daughter to grow into a confident horse rider. The love and care for her rescued horses is evident in her daily interactions. We wouldn’t chose another barn!

We love Susan and IHCYR! Susan has such a kind and giving heart towards the kids and the horses!! I am a protective mother who doesn’t just trust anyone with her kids but I trust Susan’s professionalism, knowledge, and her heart! She is very much about safety first and she knows horses! She loves God very much and wants to only make people know and feel Jesus’ love to others. She is a genuine Christian who puts others and the horses above her own needs! We love being at IHCYR and we love taking lessons from Susan.

I had been looking for a place for a long time for my daughter to learn to ride, and Susan and IHCYR came highly recommended. Her knowledge of horses and riding is top notch, and she always goes the extra mile to make sure my daughter understands the instruction she is giving. Not only is she an amazing teacher, but her love for God shines through when she instructs. You can tell she loves what she does and she loves sharing her knowledge and talent with the kids. The horses are well loved, and given amazing care. I would recommend IHCYR to anyone who wants to give their child a solid equine foundation.

Iron Horse Christian Youth Ranch is an amazing place! I spent so many hours out there from the time I was 14 until I moved when I was 16. Susan Kamlan is an incredible teacher and mentor, and I learned so much about the horses, the rescue, and myself during the years I volunteered. Being there is like being part of a big family. My mom would drop me off at the beginning of the day and I'd stay all day to work with the horses, clean up around the ranch, and be part of the day to day activities. I earned my horsemanship certification while I was there and eventually started helping with the programs for the younger kids. If you are interested in rehabilitating horses or taking lessons, look no further than Iron Horse.

I love coming to Iron Horse Christian Youth Ranch! It's definitely a home like feeling when your here. I've been with IHCYR ever since i was 8, I'm 18 now. All the animals including the horses are fat and happy! We like our animals that way!! I would recommend this ranch to anyone who wants to take riding lessons or just wants to learn a little more about the animals.

I've been with the ranch since I was 8 and 9 years old and I am now 20 and I have learned so much! The ranch is a very welcoming place and has a strong home feeling to it. You will never feel unwelcomed here! Everyone is so friendly! All the horses are amazing and fat and happy! They all take good care of the children. Safety is the first biggest concern with the ranch followed by FUN! I highly recommend Iron Horse Christian Youth Ranch to anyone who is looking for quality horse education and lessons!

I've been at IHCYR since I was 8 years old and I'm now 18. This place is a home away from home where you learn more than just riding. Susan Kamlan teaches nutrition and horse care, as well as basic vet care and ranch maintenance. I'm someone who absolutely adores everything about horses and I've stayed with Susan all these years because the methods she uses for training and the way she cares for every kid that comes out as well as every horse that enters her property. She's gentle but firm, and she teaches us how to read a horses body language and respond, rather than harshly demanding the impossible of a horse. She challenges every rider that comes to learn and walks along side of them while they face this challenge. When I was 9 or 10, she had me ride one of our Paint horses named Chief; this guy was a gentle giant, but all I noticed was the giant part. I told her I was scared and she walked with me through this challenge. I'm so grateful that she challenged me when I was young because now I challenge myself and push myself outside my comfort zone. There are people who used to ride at the ranch who struggled with things outside of Susan's control, and because of that, have consistently attempted to run her into the ground. But in my experience, words can only carry you so far; come out to IHCYR and meet my family of horses and friends that will guide you through the horse world!
