The Four Corners Gem and Mineral Club has been a place and group for rock hounders and jewelers to find a community with for 75 years (since 1947)! Field trips, classes, demonstrations, open shop times and an annual gem show are the main offerings of this club. The friends, networking and skill exchange with others are the added bonus!

I'm new to the club. I've been welcomed into the club with open arms. I took one of the classes that was offered here and was hooked. Everybody has been friendly and very helpful. Now within a few months I'm creating pieces of jewelry that I'm really proud of and were fun to create. I still have a lot I can learn but this is the best place around to learn it.

Was introduced to the club through a friend, and quickly fell in love with it. It’s such a wonderful resource to have in the community. The plethora of equipment they have is wonderful for someone who doesn’t have the space or money for their own studio. And people are always willing to help you learn how to use the equipment, and give advice.

I've been with the club for about 2 years now. A friend taught me how to use the lapidary equipment to cut and polish stone, and I took the silver ringmaking course from Chayse Romero so I could set and wear my stones.

This shop has everything you need to go from finding a rock out on a hike to making it into something beautiful and wearable. The community is fantastic, very welcoming. I've learned so much just sitting in the main room and watching other people work.

This shop has been around for over 70 years and has produced a lot of incredibly skilled local artists. They offer rockhounding trips, many classes, and put on our local Gem Show. Dirt cheap at $33 for annual membership, I recommend it to anyone who likes rocks and metalwork.

As of this post I have been a member of the Four Corners Gem and Mineral Club for over a year now. The club's diverse membership bring considerable knowledge and experience to mineral/rock specimen identification via expert posts and field trips. Further, the many experienced lapidarists, silver/gold smiths and jewelry journeymen offer many learning opportunities throughout the year to members and non-members at a very reasonable cost (most of the fee is used to provide the stones, and precious metals needed to complete class projects). If you are at all interested in learning or sharing information about rocks, precious metal smithing, and lapidarist skills this is the club for you. The club offers VERY reasonable membership rates for individuals and families. The shop is very well equipped and each open shop session has a skilled shop steward in attendance to help anyone with any of the equipment and or techniques. The membership are both skilled and very friendly and willing to pitch in to help the uninitiated achieve a higher skill level.

If this sounds interesting to you, it is very easy to visit the website and sign up. Be sure to visit the Events page to preview upcoming classes and events!

If you have any interest in rocks and/or making jewelry, this club is for you! I’m so very grateful to have this place in my community. I have taken multiple classes, learned basics of lapidary and silversmithing and now I’m in at least once a week making jewelry! It’s been essential for my small business (at ursa_alloys on Instagram and FB) and just a great place to hang out with fellow rock nerds. There are also great field trips for collecting and learning about geology in our local area!
