I took my family to celebrate El día de los Muertos ( the day of the death) and everything was so authentic, the people who did the altar and the decorations put a lot of their time and effort to make it look just like in Mexico. In Mexico people decorate the cementaries and spend the night waiting for their love ones to come visit them so that they can enjoy their favorite food and drinks, if you don't know much about this watch a movie titled "COCO" it will explain how this works, it's a good way to remember the people that was once full of life.

No wonder the student success rate is so low (18.5% graduation rate). This place is a joke, and the majority of teachers and staff are only there for a paycheck. The state spends so much money on education, but low-income and poverty-stricken communities always get dealt the short end of the stick.

*One year later, this place continues to be a joke. The majority of professors have their own agenda, political views, and personal biases; god forbid you challenge them in the name of learning. They continue to set up students for failure, not success.

I graduated from here. Many helpful degrees & programs. There's an astronomy building & planetarium on campus. There are several stages for plays. It's a truly wonderful campus, more than a century old.

It's nice that they have the tennis courts open. My brother & I have been playing every Sunday since January 2021.
There were a couple Sundays they were closed so we had to go elsewhere.
Not sure why the track has been closed. I love to run/walk too.

Good skate spots If your looking for stair sets, they have a nice 2,3,5 and 8 stair there. As well a nice tall curb ledge in the back of the parking lot out front. Good spots for both beginner and advanced

Hartnell is going through a ransom wear attack and recovery , during the whole time they did a terrible job keeping the students informed . There was no access to drop or add classes .
I send emails and didn’t get anything back .
There phone didn’t even work cause of the hack . I signed up for online classes and emailed them to try to get better attention to detail on how to access the canvas online . Just absolutely terrible . It caused me to miss a class and I have a handful of class that are suppose to start and don’t even show up on my online portal . And I can’t see or add or drop them cause the website doesn’t give me access . And I have yet to see a solution to a problem like this , I doubt I’m the only one . Just go to MPC .

The best college serving the greatest people in our community. Instructors encourage you to do your best. Here, the door is always open to return, should you find yourself in economic hardships or not enough time in your schedule to finish your education plans. Seek out the best instructor Juan Oliverez.

Called admissions regarding transcripts for the summer course I took there during 2016 and was told they can only do paper transcripts as their system isn’t capable of doing electronic transcripts. They should definitely update as it is inconvenient for students. Also, the woman I spoke to was very rude, dry, and didn’t even try to help me to find a solution to my issue. Rude staff, outdated tech, I suggest driving a bit and attending another community college that actually cares about its students.
