At DOD, I highly appreciate the professionalism and the seamless checkups in the whole process. Dr. Marlise Stephens NP is exemplary. Her care for the patient, her patience, and accurate diagnosis helped me to head for recovery with confidence and a heart of gratitude. During subsequent follow-up sessions, she did careful check-ups and gave me detailed info about my health conditions and what-to-do next, which is the best experience any patient could expect from his/her doctor.

I was a walk-in, from out of town, staying in a local hotel for several day, and what seemed to be a minor cold had progressed into my chest and a deep cough.
The entire staff were extremely helpful and professional. Initially, the local Medicare carrier failed to find my insurance, but they were able to process my secondary insurance, and apologetically took a $20 co-pay because of the Medicare issue. Later, the receptionist tracked me down in an examining room to report the carrier resolved the issue and she refunded me the $20.
They went through the normal checks (negative for COVID and Flu) and after examinations they asked to take chest X-rays. The doctor reported they did see some slight fuzziness in the lower lungs. While she (and I) felt is was likely a viral infection, just in case it was bacterial, she prescribed Azithromycin and Benzonatate to help with the cough.
As I had no appointment and they had to fit me in, it took a bit longer than a usual visit, but throughout, everyone was very professional, helpful, and accommodating.
I would definitely recommend Doctors on Duty for anyone needing medical attention.

Doctors on duty sure has come a long long way! My experience was that of a expensive personal PCP. As a matter of fact it was better! Probably the best doctors I've had in 25 years and I'm 62 🙂 📣

I give the telemedicine part of Dr on Duty an A+ but I have some things to say about the Marina in person Dr on Duty. The manager at the Marina location I have had to speak with several time about their poor customer service skills coming from the front desk as well as how they stopped allowing people to make telemedicine apts over the phone and now you have to always make them on the Dr on Dury site in the telemedicine section. I went to the Marina Dr on duty for my daughter a couple weeks ago who had horrible stomach pain and abdominal pain so we went in at 8am to make sure we could be seen as the day fills up quick at that location and I thought it better her be checked out in person for the symptoms she was having. The lady at the front told me we were fine for go home since I live five minutes away and she would call me when to come in. Two hours later with no phone call from the Dr on duty in Marina, I called them and the lady said their were still a few patients in front of my daughter but it should be soon and she’ll call us for sure. About an hour after that so a total of 3 hours later she called and said wait thirty minutes then come in. So I did EXACTLY what the lady said and 30 minutes on the dot I was back in the office checked in for my poor full of pain daughter stil in horrible pain, to be seen. In 30 more minutes we were still waiting in the waiting room. I appproached the front very kindly and asked if she was going to be seen sometime soon as I saw other patients who came in way after us being seen by the nurse. The lady said yes she should be in the next room that pops up. So three and. Half hours total later my daughter was called in and the nurse said their doctor will be right with you. After thirty more so a total of four hours later in total we had waited for a doctor to see my daughter I went outside and had a smoke to calm my nerves so I didn’t say or do anything I felt like saying in madness or the feelings of anxiety I was having waiting so long for my poor daughter who was in so much pain to be seen. I then went back and the office and nicely and I say again nicely asked “when do you think the doctor will be in to see us?” The lady said “hold on illl find out and get back to you”. Then the manager who I had spoken to before again about his reps and those poor customer service came in and told me basically their were apts now coming in and it would be an additional wait after we had already Ben waiting fo over four hours and was I ok with this. I started crying my in fristrarion. He then said, “you know we called you three times and when we asked you to come in office and you were next, you didn’t show up for quite a whole. “ I explained to him what happened a so explained in this review about the calling the office and wwaitimg thirty minutes to come in as told by the front office and I even showed him my text, phone log and voicemails along with deleted voicemails to make sure he lenient lying when I said that not one prove of information the nurse gave him was true and that when told to come in I jumped and waited exactly the time told to me. He said okay. At that point I was livid but didn’t show it and I told him I was going to be seen my televisit since this was taking so long and I was extremely frustrated at this point. I left with my daughter. After about a week I got a letter form Dr on duty saying I was abusive and that I didn’t follow orders and they were refusing no to be my primary or see me anymore after thirty more days. They also called my insurance and told them they would take me any lkmanger as a patient after I’ve been their and they’ve been my primary for over 8 years! Then he told the insurance the lies he told me while I was approached by him after my four hour wait there on that day. I filed a grievance sgd mg insurance and offered them to see my call log and voicemail log about them lying and making up they left voicemail and called three times which was a lie and I jhavr proof of it. Do not trust the manager Eric at Dr on duty in Marina. What a lie and how nuts!

I had called Monterey in light house doctors on duty but all this time I been going there the front assistants are always so rude they don't care for patients so I decided to go online to make a telephone/ video appointment thrue my chart i was so happy I was able to get an appointment today because everytime i called doctors on duty in Monterey to make a telephone/ video appointment they would just tell me to go in person which i can't bc my daughter 16 month year old is at the emergency room since 14 of January with the flue/enfluencia and I can't leave her alone for the same illness that I have aswell anyways I'm so happy I made an appointment with doctors on duty in salinas as soon as I called i was so happy because the receptionist was so kind and helpful and not to mention DOCTOR CAROLYN MELKUS was so kind, professional, and so helpful she was listening to my needs and was so respectful I'm honestly thinking of switching to my primary care provider to salinas in abbot st im so grateful to all of you on salinas doctors on duty in abbot st that's why I took my time to write a review you guys deserve it even though I'm not feeling good at all, I needed to show my appreciation to you guys thank you 🙏

I was Seen by an assistant in a very short time with weight, blood pressure and questions as to why I was there. I wanted to check to see if ISeen by an assistant in a very short time with weight, blood pressure and questions as to why I was there. I wanted to check to see if I had a urinary track infection? She was very nice. My issue was not with her or the Doctor Who was also very thorough and took time to help me through some difficult problems with high blood pressure. My concern is that the bathroom was not very clean and that’s important; especially when you’re going in to give a urine sample and there are no alcohol wipes for you to wipe with to be sure that there is no Problem with the urine sample. The sink was not clean and neither was the toilet seat. So bottom line, the personnel were very nice but the sanitary conditions especially for an urgent care facility were very disappointing. That is why the three stars.
