I wish I could give my local UDW a 5 star rating, but I just can't. Since July of this year, I've unsuccessfully been trying to get Union representation. Not only was I ghosted by Jon Rozo but also his supervisor Michelle Gomez over a union issue that I know darn well they should be representing me with! After months of silence, no returned calls, I drove over to the UDW office. I quickly learned that Jon Rozo is long gone which explains some of the ghosting, but now that we should be back on track, we're still not back on track with resolving my legal work related issue that deserves representation and a resolution! I just feel like this union isn't being run by knowledgeable people willing to fight for the rights of their workers, and until someone steps up to the plate to get the ball rolling my opinion will not change! My 100% service connected honorably discharged military veteran son and I were wrongfully arrested and jailed by corrupt and motivated Kern County Sheriff's deputies because of false allegations by my recipient that law enforcement deputies knew or reasonably should have known were false. Thereafter, I was wrongfully fired by my recipient's worker without the required signature of authorization from my recipient who refused to sign it because he didn't understand what he was signing due to his traumatic brain injuries and neurological disorders. My recipient is my disabled significant other and his medical needs are well documented, yet mandated reporters failed to mandate which denied him his medically necessary standard of care during my involuntary absence! I do not feel that my local union representatives are knowledgeable enough in the law to represent the rights of those members like me who do know the law! A medically incompetent person receiving IHSS can't refuse services when said refusal is detrimental to their health, safety, and well-being, and a power of attorney is a legally binding document that must be honored by those who are presented with it! During the 53 days of my involuntary absence, my disabled significant other was left to die by IHSS and my union, UDW, who both failed to mandate, recognize a legally binding document, and represent my rights! Heck, EDD even denied me unemployment claiming I didn't have reported hours, yet I've been caring for him through IHSS since on or about November 2022!

This place is a robbery, they went from taking a few dollars a month from me to taking 40$ out of all my checks no matter what. That should be illegal.

Refusing to answer my calls!
Calling from different numbers hanging up on me!
Taking my money for two years! Refusing to repay me!
Looks like I’m going to have to make a claim with the city ! Unless someone decides to do the right thing!! Thank you for the opportunity to see the union for what it is!
I was enjoying the thought of being a union member yet second time in my life I needed the union to help me with no results!!
Saddens my heart !
I always thought it was for women empowerment in the work force fair wages! Completely exhausted trying waiting on the UDW to do the right thing in kern county

Wish I could give zero stars. l called the 800 number and after having to repeatedly ask for a supervisor, was told that a ticket was opened with this office and that the manager would call me. That was at 10:00 this morning. No one has called me; don't waste your time with this outfit, they don't want to help you.
