I was BLESSED, This TEAM works like a family and gives you the chance to be yourself again. No, Lies, No Gimmicks and No judgement. This is what saves you. Their Passion is impeccable on objectives to serve and help our militarily. there are! TWO sides to a page (turn it over) never quit or on quit on yourself. if anyone is going through the transition period off military lifestyle to civilian. having that thought means You are already self-imploding? we have done, hidden thing, hurt things and know things we will never speak of. Klick your heals together and give the same respect you give to your CO to your adopted family, you earned it. I never thought i would have such great communication, spoken to all the time and making me feel like i am some thing. I wish the best to all (and good luck finding a better love language than a vet to a vet,) y'all the best. I still enjoy the comfort and peace from homeless to worthless,

Got help from CVAF, from homelessness to temporary housing, and awaiting my own home with my children. Being in transitional housing is different for me, you will have roommates, some are cool, some are just plain dirtbags that are just using the system, and plan to stay forever. Just stay focused on your own goals and you may have to put up with some grown men that can't clean up after themselves or have common sense, consideration, nor common decency for others. Other than that, the team here are on point to help with your goals, but you must really want it, and do some footwork yourself. Great stepping stone to keep you afloat and not sink. Thank you CVAF!

Excellent organisation that helped me go from the street to housing in 6months. During my stay I became debt free and my medical issues straightened out. It's a private organization so it's a privilege to stay. I also straightened out all my legal problems thanks to the facilities being sober living.

My experience was very good in the beginning. I had an amazing care team that cared about me and my success. Slowly things started to change with the change I was slowly forgot about. There are some real amazing people involved with the program others are inexperienced and cold.

If you are a Veteran stay as far away as you can, My husband and I came from another state with our family in a cross country move from New York. We went to this agency for help gave them all of our information and was told we would hear back to see if we qualify. We never received a phone call we called them back numerous to see about the application and where told the same thing over and over we will call you so we gave up our faith and hope in this organization. Second my husband applied to a position within this organization, an organization where they say it's veterans helping veterans. He has a bachelors degree in Social Work and an extensive history making him highly qualified for the position, he was given a written examination along with the other candidates on questions that this organization thought where important. He was not told how the scores ranked and was never given a phone call to let him know that he was not chosen for the position. This agency went with younger straight of college graduates with little to no experience whatsoever, I would think that if you are interested in taking care of veterans you would choose someone that is qualified for the position and is not wet behind the ears. My recommendation is if your a veteran beware and stay away especially when you need help. I wish there where negative stars to be given out

CVAF is without a doubt one of the best veteran organizations in Kern County. Ashley, Lissette, and Frank are all outstanding and professional members of this organization. They went above and beyond to help, and do this day in and day out. Thank you so much for eveything!
