I am only familiar with the troop because of their annual 4th of July hot dog sale at the Methodist church on Brockton. But they are a great group of boys. I know the girls are allowed in Boy Scouts now, but I didn't see any (other than moms) selling hot dogs this year. The Boy scouts don't really have anything to do with the fireworks but here is the view I enjoyed.

Boy Scout Troop 5 runs the Scouting program in downtown Riverside and fulfills a necessary element missing in boys life...Adventure, comradery and service to the community. Nature deficiency is growing with electronics and Boy Scouts is the last place where a boy can be free and make his own future and have fun in the outdoors.
Adventurous adults are needed also.
