This community is built on love and care, and I'm grateful to be a part of it. The Refuge Support team provides great support to refugees. They are kind and supportive. Their existence stands out based on their 7 principles, is truly distinct, and accepts everyone.

The Unitarian Universalist (UU) Association has seven principles that Unitarian Universalist congregations promote and affirm:
Worth and dignity: Every person has inherent worth and dignity.
Justice, equity, and compassion: Human relations should be based on justice, equity, and compassion.
Acceptance and spiritual growth: Congregations should accept one another and encourage spiritual growth.
Truth and meaning: People should have the freedom and responsibility to search for truth and meaning.
Conscience and democracy: People should have the right of conscience and the democratic process should be used within congregations and in society.
World community: The goal is to create a world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.
Interdependent: People should respect the interdependent of all existence

Wonderful place to experience Sunday morning services that are uplifting, sincere, and inclusive. The singing & music is inspirational. I am grateful for the devoted ministers & support staff. The folks who attend are open & receptive. In addition to the Sunday services, there are also many groups & activities that one can participate in.

A beautiful setting created by positive and healing energy flowing from this lovely group of people. They offer so many interesting activities: gardens, theater, art, music, meditation, reading groups and more. I feel hopeful about humanity after attending.

What a wonderful organization, and what a wonderful place. I've been a couple of times for special events, and I'm always impressed by the professionalism of those in charge, and the warmth of its congregation. If it weren't so far from Roseville, I might consider attending for services.

I grew up in the Unitarian Church of Berkeley and found great community and many life lessons there. I began attending UUSS services regularly about 6 months ago.
Since my children are grown and off to college I haven't visited the religious education classes here at UUSS, but the children come to the first few minutes of each Sunday service and when it is time for them to go off to their RE classes, they go happily. Once a month the service is "all ages." There's an aspect of the all ages service that includes children who are comfortable participating and there is a background arts & crafts activity for children that goes on during the service that is meaningful to the day's topic, so they don't have to struggle to sit still and be quiet during a service that is meant to welcome them. I love when it is time for quiet reflection during those services, the minister will say something about "... with the incidental sounds of our community around us...". I love it not just because it's nice for the kids (and their parents) that there isn't any shushing, but also because it's healthy for the whole community to be realistic and welcoming and appreciative of each member.
