Tal from Strong Mama Fitness is one amazing instructor. When I got pregnant, I wasn't sure how to continue my fitness regime during pregnancy. I started taking my prenatal classes with Tal when I was in my third month of pregnancy. I'm in my last month now, feeling super good and ready for delivery. Tal is an excellent instructor, her classes are fun and she will teach you some positions to use at birth. The best prenatal class in San Mateo county!

I have been meaning to write a review for Tal Cohen and Strong Mama Fitness for a while now. I highly recommend her.

After giving birth to my daughter I wanted to start working out but was never a fan of the traditional gym setting. When I found out about Tal's classes I was eager to give them a try since she offers classes that are baby friendly (I can bring my baby to class!) and I like the variety of her class offerings.

So far I have done the Mat Pilates class, My Cutie and Me class, Bootcamp class, Core & More class and TRX class. I have not gone to these type of classes before so I was going out of my comfort zone when I started but now I don't know what I would do without them.

Tal genuinely cares about making sure you are comfortable with the intensity level while also encouraging you to push yourself. I am so glad I found Strong Mama Fitness and look forward to going to her classes for a long, long time!

Here is a quick list of why I like taking classes here:

* I am new to working out (I had not been to a gym in years) but here there are NO judgements, just encouragement by Tal and other mamas.

* I can bring my baby to class. My daughter was about 4 months when I started bringing her to class. Without this option, I wouldn't be able to leave my house to get a workout.

* I love the convenience. Tal has an easy to use website to register for classes as well as manage your account. She makes it very easy to choose the classes from the online calendar.

I love Tal. She is an amazing instructor. I started going to her prenatal class at week 12 of my pregnancy. I will continue going because every time I leave her class, I feel so much better about my body and myself. She has a good vibe with positive energy that you just want to be around. Her exercise makes me feel like I can do a lot with my body even though I'm pregnant. I feel healthier and start to sleep better. Thank you, Tal.

I don't have enough wonderful things to say about Tal and her mama fitness classes. I've been going to her prenatal class since I was around 20 weeks pregnant and I'm 34 weeks along now. I have learned so much from her than just how to safely exercise during pregnancy. I literally think about her every time I sit up from bed or go about picking things up off the floor- because she talks about how important it is to protect different muscle groups in every day activities. Her breathing and stretching techniques are aspects I incorporate into my daily routine that just help me feel good and mobile. Her positivity and welcoming atmosphere make her studio feel like a safe place for mamas to ask questions and bring their little ones (while getting a pregnancy safe workout in!). Tal has been a great support person throughout my pregnancy and I can't wait to try her bootcamp class after I have this little one! Thank you Tal for putting your heart into your work!

I was recommended Tal's classes when I moved to Foster City 32 weeks pregnant and loved her friendly, supportive approach when I had given up most other exercise classes as I felt heavy in my third trimester.

We still go to Stroller Fusion classes in the park now that my son is 6 months old and love being able to get some proper exercise while still being able to bring him along with me, he loves watching me from the end of the mat. Tal is expert at delivering a full, challenging class and keeping an eye out for fussing babies so you can finish that last plank...

Best of all Tal has put a lot of effort into building a community of strong mamas here in Foster City, with occasional mama's nights and talks and is a fantastic resource. Not at all your average exercise class! Highly recommended!

I was looking for Prenatal exercise classes during my second trimester and I saw "Strong Mama Fitness" on yelp with amazing reviews. I thought to give it a try with a free trial class. As soon as I finished that class and went home, I bought 10-class package immediately. Tal is GREAT!!! I started her classes when I was 26 weeks pregnant, I am 36 weeks right now and still going... I tend to go until the end of my pregnancy! Class' timings are so perfect for working women! Tal's prenatal exercise helped me a lot with my lower back pain, my pain was completely gone after the first class and I feel better with every class. Such a relief! This is not at all an average group-exercise class, this is more like a private session with an individual attention from her! Tal makes sure everyone is exercising with a correct posture and technique! Even my husband reminds me every week to book a class (since I am always in a good mood after Tal's classes). The classes have a wonderful mix of dance, mat work, TRX or band exercises with an amazing music!
I am really looking forward to continuing post-natal classes after the delivery!

Tal is beyond phenomenal, and everything I was looking for (and more) in a prenatal personal trainer. I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery.

Tal radiates positive energy. She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc).

Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge.

If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality.

I can't recommend Tal enough!
