Homeless and have almost 3 years of paper trail where I'm begging for assistance but cannot get any help whatsoever!. Wouldn't even give 1 start if that were possible. I don't want anyone to support me I just need a little help getting in a place. I'll pay my own rent and bills. But can't seem to get the help her or anywhere. Can't even get a call back.

We applied for rental assistance in September 2021 and turned in everything they asked for. My landlord and I spoke to the Rep there in November 2021 and was told everything was good and application would be approved. A week later, they asked for proof of residency which should have been covered by my lease according their website and California law. I explained to them that my docs go to a PO Box due to mail theft and asked them to use my lease as proof. They denied my application for that reason. Now we are on the verge of eviction and landlord losing the property due to back taxes. They refused to let me speak to a supervisor and told me all I could do is reapply which I did 3 times. All applications were denied. This company is horrible. They are refusing to help people even though they are supposed to. This was the wrong company to use for this project. I feel bad for my landlord.

I originally applied in July 2021 and was denied because supposedly I did not respond to something even though I did. I was told all I could do was apply again, which I did in September 2021. My landlord and I have done everything required and have been conditionally approved for 3 months now. My utilities are piling up and have now accumulated so high that there’s no way I can pay them. I keep being told to just wait but it’s now almost 6 months. I truly appreciate this program helping but can someone in a higher position PLEASE check on the finance department. I’m so stressed out and was told in November my application was approved and I’m now being told it can still be denied.

They love to dangle that carrot of helping your family then they blow you off.
Why why are you accepting AND APPROVING applications if you have NO funding? Our landlord cant wait anymore. We are now 68 days past your own 90 day deadline your website gives and your employees. But here we are.....with nothing.

my landlord convinced us to apply for emergency assistance thru united way 211 and i have been working with a coordinator by the name of Nancy. our application was "conditionally approved" and she assured us the landlord would be paid thru June 2022 and we did not need to make payments towards are rent due to my hours being cut. in July i get a 3 day eviction notice. I panicked and borrowed 12k from 4 different people to pay what united way promised to pay(everything is in writing from united way) now united way is saying if funding is approved the landlord will just send the check back to them. the landlord told me once they finally get the funds they can give us a refund and we can use those funds towards paying back everyone we borrowed from. now im being told the landlord has to send those funds back to united way. so now we are more in the hole with a new baby. we now owe people 12k and didn't get the help we were promised in writing. 100% this story will be reported to the media.

Been waiting on ANY kind of update on emergency rental assistance app and no one responds to my messages. I understand you're busy but why keep accepting apps if you can't even process the existing apps let alone respond to update inquiries. SO disappointing.
