I have never seen a rescue who cares more about the cats in their care. I delivered kittens here from the shelter that they were rescuing from euthanasia over five years ago. I have been a volunteer ever since. I can assure you that this is no scam, as some very misinformed reviewers have said. They do keep bonded siblings together because that is best for the cats/kittens. I have seen many, many kittens and cats adopted to wonderful homes. Lucy keeps in touch with the families to assist in the successful transition. She also sends all kinds of goodies including beds and trees so the cats have familiar things to help them be comfortable. If looking for kittens or cats i highly recommend a visit to Whis-Purr to see for yourself.

The cats and kittens at Whis-Purr are much loved and well cared for, it is obvious. Lucy is so helpful in finding the best cats for you and she knows all about every cat. The set up with the rooms and tunnels makes the most of the space so the cats have lots of room to roam but stay safe. You can go in and spend time with the cats. Highly recommended.

Don’t understand why people don’t give 5 stars. The staff is really friendly and thorough introducing each kitten and who are in pair for us. She let us get in each cage to play closely with them. The setting of each cage and room are so warm and makes a lot of fun for the kitty. Really a nice place looking for cat. Forgot to mention, it’s really clean and well ventilated.

We tried adopting a kitten and when we came in they told us we had to make an appointment even though we had called 3 hours earlier and they never replied but we thought maybe they were busy so after they told us to make an appointment we called again but it just sends you to a voicemail that tells you to leave a message which is what we did and they still never responded. Not only that but when we came in they’re was a lady just sitting on her phone not doing anything or helping at all.

I have been volunteering here for nearly a year, and I have nothing but glowing praise for this organization. The care and concern for the happiness and well-being of the cats is like nothing I have ever seen at a rescue. If you are looking for cats to adopt (they generally adopt bonded pairs) or for a place to volunteer, head to Whis-Purr rescue. You won't regret it !

I’ve never experienced a “rescue” who cared less about the welfare of their cats than Whis-Purr. They women who run the group, Lucy and Caitlin, are unprofessional and unstable. We fostered a cat from them for 5.5 months and they never provided any food, litter, or the supplies promised (costing us hundreds). They refused to ever network her, promote her, or take any steps to finding her an adopter. We begged them for months to simply update her profile or mention her on their website, they refused.

Eventually we started networking the cat ourselves via Facebook and Nextdoor. At one point we found someone who was interested in the cat and she came by to visit. I immediately knew this would not be a good match but Lucy was adamant about how great a home it would be for our foster. Surprise, surprise: it wasn’t. Less than a week later we had to go pick up our traumatized foster when the adoption expectedly failed.

Following the failed adoption, our home environment was different and our cats no longer accepted the foster. We expressed to Lucy over and over again our concerns and she ignored or brushed them off. Eventually it became too much and we said that we would need to take the cat back to Whis-Purr in 2 weeks. Whis-Purr was not set up for a new cat to return and it would take that time to prepare.

Well, during this period I reached out to other rescues, asking if they’d network the cat because we still deeply cared about our foster and wanted the best home for them. This apparently hurt Lucy’s and Caitlin’s pride/ego and they completely flipped out. Accusing us of lying, claiming there was some big plan for getting the cat a home (we asked what it was but they would not provide anything), demanding the cat back immediately. They spent hours harassing up, all that time could have been spent trying to promote the cat but their egos were more important.

Eventually we brought the cat back to Whis-Purr and had found someone who was interested in adopting them. Lucy didn’t care about the cat’s traumatized state and through the potential adopter in a cage with the cat within the first 2 days of being in a shelter and, surprise again, the introduction went miserably.

It is hysterical to see them asking for volunteers and donations because they had enough nerve to “retain a lawyer” demanding we bring the cat back on a Saturday instead of the upcoming Thursday as previously agreed upon (and despite how they weren't set up for her). Intel offered to do a sponsorship of Whis-Purr and Lucy never bothered to follow up with that.

Aside from all that, they have a room in the back filled with 2 year old cats who are unaltered because Lucy is too scared to get them spayed and neutered in case they might have FIP. That’s absolutely insane.

There are so many other great rescues in the area, do yourself a favor an avoid Whis-Purr like the plague.

The negative reviews are absolute fabrications. Anyone with common sense knows a good rescue thoroughly screens their applicants. This rescue is beyond amazing. These cats are sincerely loved and carefully homed because they are family to the people running it. Everyone involved in the rescue knows each and every cat and knows how to properly place them.
