Scammy agency that doesn’t care about people. When Midpen bought our property in Fairfax they’ve lied to us to make us sign one year lease with them. They’ve said that income qualified individuals will have lower rate after we will qualify their agency for special tax rate with our signatures showing that we, tenants of that building make less the $140k/year and they raised rent instead. They said that repair concerns will be fixed within 2 days - I can’t get things fixed in a year! They said they care about people and you can’t even rich them.Their inbox is full. I had to find where to live in a day time while paying full rent to Midpen because they started construction next to our windows with sound levels 70-100db measured from inside of my apartment for 3 weeks and they are still not done. Our property had a heated swimming pool and they closed it completely after everyone signed a year lease with them. Absolutely horrible fraudulent corporation cashing federal fund for affordable housing that shouldn’t have a right to operate at all with such a scammy practices. If you have another choice save your money and you health, do not ever sign with MidPen. We finally found a housing to move out from this hell MidPen created and the still are doing harsh construction every day from March 2024 till July 2024. On some days we couldn’t step out of our apartment until 6pm because the construction people used this tool that burns metal together in a foot from our door, sparkles where all over!

Lived in Manzanita Place for a number of years with my 3 children. We moved into a brand new unit and love the neighborhood and management. If we ever have an issue with the unit, it gets resolved in a timely manner, not a fan of all the inspections however I understand that comes with the benefit of the affordable housing. Our property manager and maintenance crew are great!!

They have no respect for Veterans. I have been filing out paperwork for 2 months. Each week they ask for another piece of paperwork, instead asking for it all at once. Being told each time the paperwork is done. It's one big game to them. A homeless drug addict can walk right in and have a unit. But a homeless Veteran has to fill out paperwork after paperwork. They rather have a Veteran die on the street, so they can rent to a homeless drug addict with no source of income.

Unfortunately, I still live at Pickering Place here in Fremont because my son and I can not afford to live anywhere else in the Bay Area, even though we both work full time.

If you are a low income family, you will definitely feel that way here. The residents are not important to this company. They know we can't afford to live elsewhere so they can get away with not answering calls, emails, or service requests in a timely manner. The office is always closed. The manager missed my recertification meeting, and I ended up having to take time off work to reschedule. Then, after attending the meeting, I got a 30 day notice to move out for not attending the meeting! This isn't the first big screw up I've had with them.

During the pandemic, the online portal was acting up, so I used a check to pay my rent, and then it caused a double payment because the online payment went through as well even though it told me it wasn't working. I asked to be reimbursed or at least credited towards the next month. Instead, they tried to tell me I didn't double pay, even after proving it with my bank statements. When I refused to pay more rent the next month until they corrected this, they served me with a 30 day notice and forced me to pay another month. Which was illegal at the time due to the eviction moratorium. They argued with me about it for 3 months before I finally got a credit and no apology. All this during a time, I had lost my job due to COVID happening and had zero income, while I was raising a kid as a solo parent. They don't care about the residents. Don't move here. If I could leave, I would.
I've been trying to reach the manager for multiple days now, with no reply, to address the 30 day notice I just received which is completely unwarranted and obviously a mistake. The stress that comes with living at this property is not worth it one bit.

Also, nothing in my apartment has been updated since I moved in 11 years ago. Including the carpet and the flooring and cabinets were falling apart when I got here. I can't even begin to describe how awful it feels to be treated this way. We aren't even people to them. I feel like I have tried not to be any trouble or speak up because I am fearful of losing my place and becoming homeless. It just feels so terrible. I work really hard, have a college degree, and am still not treated with dignity because I don't make a living bay area wage.

Management at the mission gateway apartments is truly horrible. What is the point of having a mangers in office if they are never going to do anything. They said themselves they would not do anything regarding tenants allowing their pets to defecate and urinate all over the buildings and tenants constantly smoking weed. Mid Pen does not care about helping any community.

Call the number right now and you will get a voicemail with options. Click on an option to have someone call you back will get you a voicemail full announcement. If you would like to speak to the operator press 9 or * however doing so will get an "that is not a valid extension". My water is constantly being shut off without warning for five years! At least five times a year randomly. It's very frustrating when you have places to be! I asked how long it would take and they don't know! This is at Timberwood Apartment. I believe they cut corners by hiring cheap labor because five years to fix the plumbing? Ridiculous!

12/17/2024 Lately I've been getting Discriminated AGAINST . I WENT TO THE OFFICE THIS MORNING TO LET THE OFFICE KNOW, THAT MY KEY PHOB, AND 2 SMOKE DETECTORS ARE BEEPING. THE LADY SAID CAN SO AN SO COME BETWEEN 12:30-1PM. I SAID SURE. ITS NOW 4:37PM DECEMBER 17TH 2024 4:38PM. THIS MORNING I CAUGHT THE NO NAME GUY SNOOPING AROUND MY FRONT DOOR. and THE "NEW Service GUY" IS HARASSING ME.

Hello my name is Cecilia Rodriguez I was a tenant at Hillsdale Townhouses from 11/06/2009 till 05/24/2018. This is the day my co-tenant and I were maliciously thrown out in the street by Melanie Gibson. She and other managers plus lawyers of Mid Pen Housing are lying took the Law into their own hands didn't take me to court but had the guts to falsely accused me of calling the company and saying I'm gonna kill all of you. That is so false. I am not violent. I have no record of being violent. I got a great life now I worked hard to get where I am at. I live in. Beautiful home with a Samoan caregiver. She cares for me. Let me tell you. Hillsdale managers lied to the Small Claims Judge and said they contacted me about my property. Not true. On 0525/2018 one day after horrible Eviction all our belongings were viciously thrown in the garbage. I was appalled. They retaliated against me. Can you believe it. They made their Landlords Maria Ramos and Melanie Gibson lie in Court May 2019. I told the Judge they are lying. I had a Notarized document and won the Judgement. Mid Pen Housing had to write me a check for $1250.00 a small amount for I didn't have all the evidence. I am now living good. My co-tenant died on August 30 2020 the company Mid Pen Housing even followed me to Modesto CA even went into parking lot where my companion was dying just to Stalk me they even side swiped my Van so I could not sleep. All night to make me sick and possibly die. But by God I am alive. I am asking the company to do right by me. Pay me
