My mom recently visited this food pantry and was told it doesn’t serve her area. While I completely understand the rules, she’s a senior and didn’t know. After she handed me the phone because she doesn’t speak English, I wasn’t able to finish the conversation before the staff gave the phone back to her. I understand the policy, but it seems like making a one-time exception for someone in this situation wouldn’t be too much to ask. Kindness goes a long way.

Went today with the spouse. The lady with the laptop (front desk) checking the ids is grumpy. I asked if she spoke spanish- she said she doesn't and that it's rude to assume it.

People who come to you (like myself) have already lost their dignity. No one is proud to have to be in this situation so PLEASE BE KIND. NOTHING and NO ONE should give you a license to be rude and curt to people you are supposedly helping. If you aren't happy with what you're doing, please find another place to work or volunteer. Thank you.

I will be filing a Formal Complaint Regarding Discrimination, Unprofessional Conduct, and Security Concerns at Hayward Parish Facility with the city of Hayward and Alameda County if things do not get resolved immediately!

I am writing to formally report multiple incidents of discriminatory behavior, unprofessional conduct, and security concerns that I observed at the Hayward Parish facility. These issues are deeply concerning and require immediate investigation and corrective action.

During my time at the parish, I witnessed several instances where elderly individuals of Asian descent were treated unfairly by members of the regular staff. Specifically, certain Latino staff members consistently displayed favoritism toward Latino individuals while being rude, dismissive, and unprofessional toward individuals from other racial backgrounds, particularly those of Asian heritage. The staff here do not know how to conduct themselves in a professional mannerism and it is Concerning. Nobody deserves to be treated in humanly and the staff to just that! They speak to you like you are some stray animal. These actions by staff suggest a troubling pattern of racial discrimination, poor conduct that must be addressed promptly to ensure an inclusive and respectful environment for all.

Additionally, I want to highlight serious concerns regarding the security guard tall male with beard responsible for overseeing the floor. On multiple occasions, this individual has exhibited extremely rude and unprofessional behavior towards others in an abusive manner. Based on these observations, it is my opinion that he is unqualified and unfit for his role. His actions not only reflect poorly on the facility but also raise concerns about whether he possesses the proper training and work ethic required for such a position. I urge you to investigate his conduct thoroughly and take appropriate action.
