I realize making a public statement about receiving assistance may feel like any number of negative things depending upon the person.
And I confess to my own inner turmoil, but there is no shame in admitting the need for help and being humble only makes us human. GRASS ROOTS NEIGHBORS not only came to my aid they helped me to better my own situation by taking away the time and energy I had been spending worrying over where and how I could get food. Their generosity and caring approach has been uplifting and I will never be able to thank them for their thoughtful supportive actions. If you find yourself struggling I hope you remember the Grass Roots Neighbors.

Playa Del Rey's very own community organized non-profit! I started volunteering here in 2022 and I still offer my time twice a week! We are very fortunate to have such amazing and caring people in our community. If you are looking for an organization that's local to donate or volunteer your time, this is the place.
