Not a great place. They ask for so much money but it doesn’t seem like much of that is given back to the community in any way. When I asked if they had diapers for my daughter a couple years ago, they told me they didn’t and to give my information in order to receive anything at all. I have lived in Redwood City and the Redwood City shelters do not do this. What I’m baffled by is that they really push you to try and donate money to their cause, but where is the money going to? They can’t issue Ebt cards, they can’t really do much of anything except get your info and put you on a list. So what is the point of donating money? I’d like to see more transparency here since well, they are a nonprofit organization and not much is stated on what they actually DO for people in need…

Let me be completely honest. They do try their hardest to help you with what you need.
With that being said. I went there to receive services and a yt lady took it upon self to make very rude comments to me and my children, then wanted to just keep touching my children's hair and hair. Even put her hands on the back of my son's neck almost to get his attention cause she was talking. I removed my children and walked away. I made a comment for feeling uncomfortable and she left us alone. I then waited 10 minutes past my appointment time, when there were people just walking it no appointments and getting helped before me. I make a comment about having an appointment but not being helped as the others were made a priority. I then removed myself and my children and went outside, where we waited. The manager Maria Hernandez came out and said that I was causing an uncomfortable environment. As I began to speak she continued to speak over me as if my side of the story didn't matter.
As stated above they do help, but this was my experience and I didn't and don't feel welcome to go back.

That Asian lady in the from is the most rude person I met. It’s very visible that she hates her job and she takes it out on the clients. I walked in there to ask about my Edd card and to see if they know any info because I was approved, but never received a card. She stared yelling at me asking if I had an appointment. She ended up telling me to call eBt card services and told me I cannot get food because I didn’t have an appointments I wasn’t even looking for food but just a simple answer to a question that took less than 20 seconds. I hope someone else replaces her because she does not deserve that job and clearly hate it and her clients. I have many friends who say the same about her. She is pure hell.

When inquiring about what type of services they provide, I was told by the front desk Office Manager, Dolce, that I needed to live in Pacifica AND give her my information so she can enter it into their computer system for a Case Manager to contact me to let me know. In order to clarify, I asked, "There is no one here that can answer my quick question about what is the purpose of this center?" She never answered yes or no to me, but was instead pushy about me having to live in Pacifica and collecting my information for their computer system. I gave her my information so that someone could call me to tell me what their program does. I left the Center not having any idea what they do for the community.

Marina Hernandez called me and also had the same pushy attitude after I asked what services the Pacific Resource Center provided. She was persistent about me having to live in Pacifica and giving her more personal information. In order to clarify, I restated, I am just trying to learn what types of services the Pacifica Resource Center provides. I was still prompted to give my personal information to see if I qualify. I asked, "Qualify for what? I still don't know what I'm trying to qualify for. I am trying to learn the purpose of this center." Then after trying to ask the question in several different ways in hopes of helping someone understand my inquiry, Marina finally stated, "We provide emergency services." Then I said, oh, ok, good to know. Initially, I thought you could provide assistance with... however, I don't need any emergency services. Thanks and have a nice day."

Based on my experience with the staff, I felt that in their attempt to be "helpful", it was actually the opposite. In my opinion I felt pushed around and forced to give my information or else I wouldn't get any answers to my simple question. And if I gave the wrong answer to living in Pacifica, etc... I would have been turned away or denied access to any information about their program or the services they provide. And quite honestly, I still don't feel that Marina gave me a complete answer by saying "we provide emergency services", because a follow up question to that could be what type of emergency services, etc... But I feel like at that point, it would have been a challenge to work with them moving forward, so I just left it at that.

Some friendly staff others act like there on a high horse or act like they are God there especially Marina the Hispanic women that wears glasses and has blondish orange hair she treats everyone like trash.
They have pantries they have two separate pantries one for people with home's which if you do have a home they provide frozen food and other good food.
If you're unfortunate and homeless they have a pantry area which is usually filled with junk food like if we don't need to eat good food to. They do help with shower's but nothing else everytime Marina has attended to me basically when asking for help with a tent or blankets or clothes she denies me and say they don't help with that. When I've asked for other resource information magically she don't know where she could send me to get other helps.
The only staff I feel that personally wants to help is the older gentleman named Daniel he is amazing and tries to help any way possible!
Personally with every encounter I've had with Marina I feel like she shouldn't be working there I've tried getting a hold of the person who founded this program to show her the video's I have that marina or other staff members have treated people like trash but everytime I go to email Anita Rees which information is on there website Marina is the one who always answer so at this point I've stopped going because I can't handle another moment of being treated like trash I get it I'm homeless and I mean nothing but it's annoying that I have to be reminded of it everytime I go and deal with Marina

I asked the Resource center for help with some food back in September of this year. I had an appointment with a gentleman in there and I told him all my information with that was current he asked me about phone number and never heard of gave them my phone number the right number and it's good for texting. Never received one text from them I called them they say come on down you can kids pick up some food so I did then last month somebody deliver food to my doorstep. Today I called them a list of today's the day you pick up your food we've been texting you but the texting the wrong number and the lady seem like she was put out by me calling their and asking about it if that's the case they can keep their food it's not right I talked to them with respect they should respect us they shouldn't Express themselves like I'm pulling them out of the way. I explained to them in September that I've had the same phone number 4 over 30 plus years. So that means they don't listen to you when you talk to but we have to listen to them and take your instructions and everything will be ok. Not

G.MTP i definitely agree with you good luck
