Las madres is where I met my people. I’m so glad someone told me about the group when I had a tiny baby. Bring a new parent is hard! But these were moms with kids the same age right in my neighborhood! I made lasting friendships and still to this day we go on trips together and meet up after 10 years. It also has a great online community as well, information about local events, speaker nights, member night outs, and tons more. I highly recommend!

I recently discovered Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups and I couldn't be happier! As a parent who is far away from family, I often wished for the kind of camaraderie and support that this group offers during the earlier years of my son's life. Thankfully, I stumbled upon them and attended my first event yesterday - it was such a lovely experience!

Since I tell all of my friends who are becoming parents about Las Madres (LM), I may as well proclaim my love here too. LM is such a special community in the Bay Area. It offers families a chance to connect online and in-person through various forums and playgroups. LM was a lifeline as a new mom during the pandemic. Now that my son is older and our family has expanded, it is a source of friendship, a parenting sounding board, and a fantastic place to find and attend social gatherings. Yes, it costs money to join (the organization uses these funds for snacks/materials/etc for each playgroup or interest group) but you will soon discover that it is money well spent. (Aside: There are also scholarships available. And I believe there is still a free trial?!?) So when you and your family —or baby bump!— are ready to connect with other local families, come join us. You are always welcome here!

Las Madres is such a valuable resource, for many reasons. I joined when my daughter was a baby and I initially loved it for meeting other families with similar age children.

I found so many unexpected benefits like buying/selling toys and clothes, a lending library where I can temporarily borrow toys (instead of spending hundreds of dollars on things I don't even know if my kids will like!) and advice as a first time mom.

I'm so fortunate to be part of this network of moms in my neighborhood. I joined a year ago after I left work to be a stay at home mom of 2 girls and really benefited from the network of support. I love the group events, sharing wonderful gadgets and toys for little ones, advice/support from moms, and more. Thank you Las Madres!

Las Madres has literally been a lifeline for me as a first time mom. I had few friends with children at the time and desperately wanted to find new friends with kids the same age as mine. Joining Las Madres completely opened that door for me. Within a few weeks of joining I was outside, enjoying the sunshine with my 10 week old amongst a group of parents that were supportive, communicative and often times inspiring. I’ve made lifelong friendships that I’m so grateful for and it’s been so wonderful to watch my daughter grow up with her new friends.

So glad I found Las Madres! I was craving a community of other moms to meet up with, swap tips and supplies, and just to meet new friends. I love all the moms I have met and now go to regular playgroups, often walking distance from my home. I also get a ton of used stuff for free or cheap from other moms in the community. Love the online forum for advertising used items and for sharing/soliciting recommendations.
