I know this review is a bit late but here it is anyways. I was a patient at this facility twice. Once when I was about six or seven years old for about a year, and again when I was around the age of 14 for about two years. i’ve spent my whole childhood from the age of five to the age of 19 in facilities, similar to this one if not more extreme care environments. I am now 23 years old, and I am a full functioning independent adult in society with my own apartment and path in school, And I can say with complete honesty that this facility looking back has been one of the best facilities I have been to. As a child, I had extreme behavioral issues along with lots of mental health struggles. Most of the facilities I lived in, were not able to properly handle my struggles, and therefore left me with more trauma, but this place, Casa Pacifica, I feel is one of the best facilities I’ve ever lived in. This was one of the few places where I felt like normal a kid. The staff were very caring and nice and also patient. They were great at their job and you did not get the feeling as a patient that they are just there to collect a paycheck. At this facility I felt cared for not just physically but also mentally, which is extremely important for children that I think is something, that is really under looked when it comes to child care. This facility also hosted many activities and incentives to have the kids always have something to look forward to. There was never a day where kids just sat around and did nothing all day. The daily routine always gave us fun things to do to keep us busy and active and healthy while also giving us enough free time to be able to enjoy being a kid. Also, when the staff members were confronting clients on bad behavior, as a client, I did not feel like they confronted it from a textbook routine method of, “do this to keep patient physically safe, and then follow through with this consequence,”like most facilities. Instead, I felt like the staff members there would truly try and help you work through your emotions and try to understand why you’re feeling this way and why you’re acting this way to try and help reduce not just physical bad behaviors, but also the mental emotions causing the behaviors And that key thing is what made me feel genuinely cared for, and as a growing child with nobody in their life, except for the staff members that were caring for me, has made me realize how crucial The small things and the way they’re handled can affect how a child develops into a person. So to basically summarize this whole review is to basically say that I think this is one of the best facilities that a child could receive help from.
( Also, I would not use this review to explain how the facility is currently because it has been multiple years since I’ve lived there. This review is just to explain that while I was living there it was a great place.)

I was not inclined to believe the negative reviews of this place initially. However, now experiencing this first hand as a parent and what my daughter has told me the negative reviews was 100% correct.

They are very good in the beginning and somewhere in the middle things change. If a youth is not progressing the way they want they will find a way to just remove the youth from the program instead of figuring out the problems. They changed psychiatrist every two weeks with my daughter and it was exhausting redoing assessments and re - explaining your child’s story and your child gets tired of it. They have no in house psychiatrist, it is all done tele-health. In the end they dumped her at the local hospital and asked us to go pick her up. Lying on what they told me on the phone, what they told the hospital and the truth of what was written incident report from their office (which matches my daughter’s story).

Social worker was admit it was the house hold that lead to my daughter doing drugs and becoming addicted. We have never done drugs and don’t keep alcohol in our house. My daughter became addicted at school and she was there for help, not to blame cast. The fact that they would not let her take responsibility for her own actions and blame everyone else made it worse.

Reconsider sending your child here. Since my child has been home she is mentally in a good spot and stated she was traumatized from being there which caused her to act out. She constantly said she was being bullied by staff and acted out because of it.

Till this day she feels like she still received nothing out of stay other than being traumatized from other kids and staff.

My healthcare insurance case manager is aware of their treatment . She even tried calling back for a full explanation and received none. She called me back saying this is typical of certain residential place facilities. Please reconsider.

i went to Casa Pacifica due to personal reasons but, the staff was really nice and caring. The part I loved the most was that they supported me as young teen and made me feel like I was not alone. In the beginning of my stay I was very annoyed and frustrated to be there however as time went on I began listening to lessons and actually putting in effort. There was many members of the staff who helped me get to where I am today. I am proud to say thanks to hard work and Casa I am now sober and clean off of all drugs. As a matter of fact I just hit one year as of February 2023. I am also proud to say that I am early graduate whom is only 16 years old. Thanks to Casa Pacifica I am doing so much better in life. I am achieving my goal and dream that I thought wouldn't even be possible anymore because of my addiction. I would 10/10 recommend for any teen struggling just as I was.

Staff was great in the beginning until about three weeks in with good behavior reported to us by staff until we found out a staff Member was bullying and taunting our daughter. When it was addressed, which is very concerning, not only for our child, but all the other children residing on that campus, and was encouraged to do so by the clinician overseeing, our child we were slapped with false accusations to the sheriffs department, and then they threw our daughter out of the program they will use these words to you. I’m sorry, but your child is not a these words to you. I’m sorry, but your child is not a fit here! Unprofessional staff, very dishonest individuals and they do not watch your child as they should! I would never recommend somebody to this location. They violate HIPAA laws and send out other children’s progress reports to the wrong families do not send your child here for she will end up with more trauma. Please be aware of how your child is being mistreated treated there.

My son had depression and suicidal thoughts for about four years. We tried everything before deciding for a Residential Treatment Center. I did extensive research and reviewed all the reviews of all Residential Treatment Centers in the Los Angeles area and I sent him to Casa Pacifica. It is the best decision I have ever made. He came back totally changed for good. He is now in way better control of his emotions. He doesn't have depression anymore. I received the most amazing training as a parent at Casa Pacifica. They have super fun activities for the family. I will be forever grateful to Casa. Everybody there is awesome, very knowledgeable, kind, and caring. When we left so my son could return home, he was crying. He told me that he was going to miss Casa Pacifica, Adrian, and Gary "his homies". I will be forever grateful to Edna, his therapist, Carmen, the Social Worker, Jim, Adrian, Gary, and the rest of their staff for all their kindness and efforts to change my son's life. You really made a difference!!
