I moved to Cardinal Point [after living at another independent living facility for 6.5 years]. I love living at Cardinal Point. My apartment is cute and efficient and I'm very cozy within. The food is delicious and the estuary outside gives the perfect Marina view from the dining room. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly. There are many activities and something is always happening to keep me occupied. I enjoy the excursions to museums and restaurants, etc. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

The little cation is truly wonderful. Fresh air and a wonderful view of the water. Avon and Darina and team give the whole place a welcoming and inviting vibe.. With multiple activities, one can never suffer from boredom

My life improved dramatically when I moved to Cardinal Point 5 months ago. Although my experience is relatively short, others who have lived here much longer have said that they feel the same.
The property is well maintained, both buildings and grounds. Including swimming pool and jacuzzi. When something needs repair/maintenance, the job gets done.
Meals are provided in a lovely dinning room overlooking the estuary and boat docks. The food is excellent, menus varied and sophisticated , with lots of choices and fresh fruit and vegetables. Take out options available for all meals.
Weekly apartment cleaning includes changing and washing bed linens and towels, a big help. Transportation available for shopping and physician visits.
Exercise classes for various levels. Entertainment includes movies, Ted talks, lectures. We have a small library that is comfortable and welcoming. I look forward to entertainment with bar drinks and hors d'oeuvres at the end of the week.

It brings me great comfort to know that my mother had the opportunity to forge meaningful friendships during her time at Cardinal Point in Alameda, CA. The warm and welcoming atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for her to connect with fellow residents. These friendships undoubtedly enriched her life and contributed to her happiness. The staff's efforts in fostering a close-knit community are truly commendable. I am grateful for the companionship and support her friends offered her, making her experience at Cardinal Point even more special.

Cardinal point is an excellent retirement home that provides great care for the elders. My aunt has moved in since last August. The staffs are very attentive, patient and responsive to her needs, and have been taking very good care of the her from the bottom of their hearts. The place is very clean and well maintained by the staffs. I highly recommend Cardinal Points for elders who want to be surrounded by a great community with ample resources and support for their wellbeing.

Cardinal Point is really great.
After receiving rehab at another facility, this one is by far the best for my father long term. The location is exquisitely furnished, and the rooms and amenities are built so that residents may easily access everything. The building is only 3 stories with elevators and wide hallways. It’s always kept very tidy and clean. There are several dining alternatives, and the food is excellent. They have a ton of activities and excursions.

The staff, who give each resident individual attention, form friendships with them, and genuinely care about what my dad needs make this senior living facility unique. He has less incidents, is content, and is kept tidy. We do have to let them know what he needs and how he needs it, but the Cardinal Point staff responds quickly, pays close attention, and follows through.

My father is well and content. We attribute a good deal of this to the team and the amazing care he gets here.

My nonagenarian father has been a thoroughly pleased resident of Cardinal Point since moving in 2 years ago. The attentiveness, enthusiasm, and friendliness of the entire staff has made him feel truly welcome and important from day one. Whatever might arise, from a balky TV remote to a ride into town, to his Sunday omelet “made just the way I like it”, to a health concern, there is always someone available to help keep Dad independent.

Concierge Maricol is friendly, welcoming, and consistently helpful. Administrator Avon takes an enthusiastic interest in residents as individuals, celebrates their life accomplishments, and organizes fun experiences. They are the staff members I see most often and they’re always looking out for him.

The facility is immaculate. It gives me tremendous peace of mind that Dad calls it his home.

Beyond great! My father has lived here for about a year, and the staff has been consistently experienced, professional, and empathetic. Facilities are always kept maintained and looking great; any issues within the apartment are dealt with promptly. My father had had some not-so-great experiences with senior living in another state, and we were gunshy about the moving process and promises versus reality. Darina S. made every aspect of moving in seamless and stress-free, and continues to an amazing wealth of information and kindness. The food is pretty good and they try to prepare things the way my father prefers. The location couldn't be better--it's right on the water with a lovely walking trail overlooking downtown Oakland. What sets this place apart is how long much of the staff has been there, they treat it like their home, too.
