After 30 volunteer sessions and establishing deep rapport with students I was summarily dismissed on trumped up charges of "not following curriculum". A devastating experience. Be aware that if you volunteer for SBLC the plug could be pulled at anytime.

The SBLC is one of the best service organizations in our area. I have been a volunteer for 5 years, both as a GED math tutor and as a volunteer at the local elementary school. I love their dedication to helping people learn who may not have the opportunity otherwise. Keep up the good work!
